Love In The Rain
''Love in the Rain'' (Al-Ḥob Taḥtal Maṭar) is one of Naguib Mahfouz's most popular novels. It received a lot of acclaim from critics, and readers. The novel was adapted into a film in 1975, and it was directed by Hussein Kamal, starring Mervat Amin, Ahmad Ramzi, Adel Adham, Imad Hamdi, Magda Al-Khatib, Hayat Qindil, and other notable actors. Summary The novel centers on the cinematic photographer "Hosny Hejazi" who helps girls in reaching high artistic positions, but in exchange for a price. He was also the only witness one of the novel's heroine's, Samraa', death. Samraa' jumps from one relationship to the other, until she gets into a relationship with Aaliyat's father, who kills her to protect his daughter, who has premarital sex and as a result, falls pregnant. Naguib Mahfouz
Naguib Mahfouz Abdelaziz Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Basha ( arz, نجيب محفوظ عبد العزيز ابراهيم احمد الباشا, ; 11 December 1911 – 30 August 2006) was an Egyptian writer who won the 1988 Nobel Prize in Literature. Mahfouz is regarded as one of the first contemporary writers in the Arabic literature, along with Taha Hussein, to explore themes of existentialism. He is the only Egyptian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. He published 35 novels, over 350 short stories, 26 screenplays, hundreds of op-ed columns for Egyptian newspapers, and seven plays over a 70-year career, from the 1930s until 2004. Hussein Kamal () (17 August 1932 – 24 March 2003) was an Egyptian television, film and theatre director. He is considered to be an important director of traditional Egyptian cinema. One of his most famous films is ''Chitchat on the Nile'' (1971), a critique of the decadence of Egyptian society during the Nasser era. Mervat Mostafa Amin ( ar, ميرفت مصطفى أمين; born November 24, 1948) is an Egyptian actress. Early life She was born in El Minya to Mohammed Mostafa Amin, a doctor from Upper Egypt, and a Scottish mother, the headmaster of Victoria College elementary school. She was raised in Heliopolis and has a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Ain Shams University. Ahmad Ramzy ( ar, أحمد رمزي; 23 March 1930 – 28 September 2012) was an Egyptian actor who played the leading roles in many Egyptian films in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
