''Love in a Bungalow'' is a 1937 American comedy film directed by Ray McCarey and written by Austin Parker, Karen DeWolf and James Mulhauser. The film stars Nan Grey, Kent Taylor, Louise Beavers, J. Scott Smart, Minerva Urecal and Hobart Cavanaugh. The film was released on June 27, 1937, by Universal Pictures. Plot One day Mary Callahan finds a man that has slept in a bungalow she is trying to sell, a few days later he appears again seeking shelter from the rain, she lets him in and they listen to radio while the storm doesn't end. The radio station has a contest for the best letter explaining a couple's love, so they pretend to be married and send a letter. Ray McCarey
Raymond Benedict McCarey (September 6, 1904 – December 1, 1948) was an American film director, brother of director Leo McCarey. Biography McCarey began working at Hal Roach Studios, where he did work on short films with Our Gang and Laurel and Hardy. He also worked with Roscoe Arbuckle, the Three Stooges, Lucille Ball, Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong and Dorothy Dandridge among many others. Most of his feature film work consisted of "B" pictures and low-budget films. He directed 62 films between 1930 and 1948. He was the younger brother of director Leo McCarey and was occasionally billed as Raymond McCarey but usually as Ray McCarey. On December 2, 1948, McCarey was found dead kneeling beside his bed. According to the San Bernardino County Sun, two empty prescription bottles were found by his bed. His brother Leo McCarey said he had been in ill health for several months. Dell Henderson
George Delbert "Dell" Henderson (July 5, 1877 – December 2, 1956) was a Canadian-American actor, director, and writer. He began his long and prolific film career in the early days of silent film. Biography Born in the Southwestern Ontario city of St. Thomas, Dell Henderson started his acting career on the stage, but appeared in his first movie ''Monday Morning in a Coney Island Police Court'' already in 1908. Henderson was a frequent associate of film pioneer D.W. Griffith since 1909 and appeared in numerous of his early shorts in Hollywood. He also acted on a less prolific basis in the movies of producer Mack Sennett and his Keystone Studios. In addition to acting, Henderson also directed nearly 200 silent films between 1911 and 1928. William Stanley Blystone (August 1, 1894 – July 16, 1956) was an American film actor who made more than 500 films appearances between 1924 and 1956. He was sometimes billed as William Blystone or William Stanley. Early years Blystone was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Bobby Watson ( born Robert Watson Knucher; November 28, 1888 – May 22, 1965) was an American theater and film actor, playing a variety of character roles, including, after 1942, Adolf Hitler. Life and career Born in Springfield, Illinois, Watson, who was of German descent, began his career at age 15 performing a vaudeville act at the Olympic Theatre in Springfield.
