''Love and Trumpets'' (german: Liebe und Trompetenblasen) is a 1954 West German musical comedy film directed by Helmut Weiss and starring Hans Holt, Nadja Tiller and Marianne Koch.Bock & Bergfelder p.477 It was shot at the Bavaria Studios in Munich and on location around Sirmione on Lake Garda in Italy. The film's sets were designed by the art director Ludwig Reiber. Helmut Weiss
Helmut Weiss (January 25, 1907 – January 13, 1969) was a German actor, screenwriter, and film director. He was notable for directing '' Tell the Truth'' the first film produced in what was to become the future West Germany after the Second World War. It was made in Hamburg in the British Zone of Occupation. Much of the film had already been made at the UFA studios in Berlin shortly before the arrival of the Red Army, but Weiss dramatically re-shot it. The film was significant in its use of outdoor locations in common with other post-war rubble films. West or Occident is one of the four cardinal directions or points of the compass. It is the opposite direction from east and is the direction in which the Sun sets on the Earth. Brigitte Rau (31 December 1933 – 24 September 1979) was a German actress. Life Brigitte Rau was born on the last day of 1933, the daughter of Otto Kurt Rau and Martha Adele Örtel.
