Love You More Than Football
''Love You More Than Football'' was a previously unreleased Space (English band), Space album from 2000. Originally scheduled for release in July 2000, the album was intended to be their third studio album, following 1998’s ''Tin Planet''. The album, briefly known as ''Bulletproof'', was later rescheduled for 4 December 2001 but was never released. Most of the 14 tracks on the album were short love songs. The album was produced by Edwyn Collins. Only one single "Diary of a Wimp", was released from the intended album, reaching #49 in the UK. For many years, the album was set as license free, due to an early promo, CD-R, so it could be freely downloaded from the internet if a copy can be found. This was confirmed by the singer Tommy Scott, who when asked in Bristol in October 2009, apparently told a fan: "Oh God, that was meant to be released about ten years ago... If you got a copy of it, then it's yours, I've chucked that project away since Gut [records] screwed us over.". As ...

Space (English Band)
Space are a band from Liverpool, England, who formed in 1992 initially as a trio of Tommy Scott (vocals, bass, guitar), Jamie Murphy (vocals, guitar) and Jamie Island (drums), who was later replaced by Andy Parle. Keyboard player Franny Griffiths joined the line-up a year later, and the band signed to Gut Records in 1995, eventually rising to prominence with hit singles such as "Female of the Species", "Me and You Versus the World", "Neighbourhood", " Avenging Angels" and "The Ballad of Tom Jones", the latter a duet with Cerys Matthews of Catatonia. Space pursued an eclectic sound dubbed "queasy listening" by critics, embracing electronica and sampling in their work and drawing from genres as diverse as hip hop, techno, post-punk, ska, lounge music, easy listening and film scores, the result of the differing tastes between band members. The group were also noted for their deliberately tongue-in-cheek, dark humoured lyrics inspired by films, which frequently deal with topic ...

Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free. In later years, the definition of ''indie pop'' has bifurcated to also mean bands from unrelated DIY scenes/movements with pop leanings. Subgenres include chamber pop and twee pop. Development and characteristics Origins and etymology Both ''indie'' and ''indie pop'' had originally referred to the same thing during the late 1970s. Inspired more by punk rock's DIY ethos than its style, guitar bands were formed on the then-novel premise that one could record and release their own music instead of having to procure a record contra ...

Tin Planet
''Tin Planet'' is the second studio album by English band Space, released on 9 March 1998. Recorded in late 1997 following a tumultuous year for the group, ''Tin Planet'' was a continuation of the eclectic blend of musical styles explored on their debut album ''Spiders''. However, it was noted that the more abrasive aspects of their sound were toned down considerably from their debut, with the songs being more melodic with a prominent cabaret and easy listening influence. Keyboardist Franny Griffiths' love of techno and electronic music was also brought to the fore, culminating in three tracks that were primarily dance-orientated. The album was the first Space record to feature long-time collaborator David "Yorkie" Palmer as full-time bassist, and the last to feature founding member Andy Parle on drums (though he was not credited in the album's liner notes), with Leon Caffrey (formerly of the band Proper) taking his place shortly afterwards. ''Tin Planet'' peaked at #3 in the U ...
