''Love Lies'' is a studio album by American country music artist Janie Fricke. It was released in October 1983 via Columbia Records and contained ten tracks. The project was the eighth studio album of Fricke's music career and the second highest-charting album of her career. Three singles were spawned from the project: " Tell Me a Lie", "Let's Stop Talkin' About It" and " If the Fall Don't Get You". The first two singles from the disc reached number one on the North American country charts. Jane Marie Fricke ( ; born December 19, 1947), known professionally as Janie Fricke, is an American country music singer, songwriter, record producer, and clothing designer. She has placed seventeen Single (music), singles in the top ten of the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Hot Country Songs chart. Eight of these songs reached the number one spot. She has also won accolades from the Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association and has been nominated four times from the Grammy Awards. Fricke was born and raised in Indiana. She was surrounded by music from a young age and began performing locally. Fricke attended Indiana University Bloomington, where she participated in the vocal group the Singing Hoosiers. Charles Frank Black (November 23, 1949 – April 23, 2021) was an American country music songwriter and record producer. Biography Black graduated from University of Maryland in 1970 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee the same year. His first cut was "Girl, You Came and Eased My Mind" by Tommy Overstreet. Since then, he wrote singles for Anne Murray, Gary Morris, Earl Thomas Conley, Johnny Paycheck, and Phil Vassar. In 1991, the Nashville Songwriters Association International inducted Black into its hall of fame. Black was also an occasional record producer. He produced early recordings by Cristy Lane, including her 1978 studio albums ''Cristy Lane Is the Name'' and '' Love Lies''. Black was married to Dana Hunt, who is also a songwriter. Robert Keith Stegall (born November 1, 1955) is an American country music recording artist and record producer. Active since 1980, Stegall has recorded two major-label studio albums: 1985's ''Keith Stegall'' and 1996's ''Passages'', although he is mainly known for his production work. Musical career Robert Keith Stegall was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1955. He performed in local bands, spent a short time in northwestern Louisiana (in the mid-1970s) where he operated a small-time music recording business, then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at the persuasion of Kris Kristofferson. Van Wesley Stephenson (November 4, 1953 – April 8, 2001) was an American singer-songwriter. He scored three US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hits in the 1980s as a solo artist, and later became tenor vocalist in the country music band BlackHawk in the 1990s. In addition, Van co-wrote several singles for other artists, such as Restless Heart. Stephenson died of melanoma in 2001.
