''Love Lies'' is a studio album by American Christian and country music artist Cristy Lane. It was released in December 1978 via LS Records and contained 12 tracks. The album was the third released in Lane's music career and contained two singles. Its second single release, " I Just Can't Stay Married to You," became a top five country hit in both the United States and Canada. ''Love Lies'' received positive reviews from music critics and publications. Background and content After establishing his own record label, Lee Stoller began exclusively recording his wife (Cristy Lane) for his newly formed LS Records. Lane began recording music for the country market through the label. In 1977, she had her first hit with " Let Me Down Easy". Cristy Lane
Cristy Lane (born Eleanor Johnston; January 8, 1940) is an American Christian and country music singer. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, she had a series of hits on the North American country charts with songs like " Let Me Down Easy", " I Just Can't Stay Married to You" and the number one hit " One Day at a Time". The latter recording inspired a book of the same name, which was sold on cable television and brought renewed interest to Lane's career. Lane was raised in Peoria, Illinois and married Lee Stoller at age 19. She raised three children while Stoller worked a sales job in the Peoria area. One day, Stoller overheard his wife singing at home and got the idea that she could become a successful country music vocalist. Jerry Wayne Gillespie (born Decatur, Alabama) is an American country songwriter. He co-wrote " Do You Love as Good as You Look", a #1 song in 1981 for The Bellamy Brothers and wrote " Heaven's Just a Sin Away", a #1 country hit in 1977 for The Kendalls. He co-wrote " Somebody's Knockin'", a Grammy Award finalist in 1982 for Terri Gibbs, and " I Just Can't Stay Married to You", a #5 hit for Christy Lane in 1979. Bourke moved to Nashville in 1964 and worked for a period in the promotional department of Mercury Records. Holly Dunn
Holly Suzette Dunn (August 22, 1957 – November 14, 2016) was an American country music singer and songwriter. Dunn recorded for MTM Records between 1985 and 1988, Warner Bros. Records between 1988 and 1993, and River North Records between 1995 and 1997. She released 10 albums and charted 19 singles, plus two duets on the Hot Country Songs charts. Two of her single releases, " Are You Ever Gonna Love Me" and " You Really Had Me Going", went to No. 1 on that chart. Carl Sigman (September 24, 1909 – September 26, 2000) was an American songwriter.
