Captain Hollywood Project
Captain Hollywood Project is a German eurodance music project best known for the hits “ More and More," " Only with You" and " Flying High." At the peak of its success in the 1990s, the project achieved ten top-20 hits on European music charts. The project was first formed in 1990 in Nuremberg, Germany by rapper/singer, dancer and music producer Tony Dawson-Harrison (a.k.a. Captain Hollywood). When first naming the project, Harrison chose the name 'Captain Hollywood Project' in order to distinguish his new music for the project from his music from previous years. He also chose the name to give himself the creative freedom as executive producer to involve any singer, songwriter or producer of his choice when producing each of the new songs for the project. Even though the act has been viewed as a one-man act starring Harrison as the rapper/frontman, an ensemble of female backup singers, dancers and backing musicians have been traditionally included in the act by Harrison. Eurodance
Euro-Dance (sometimes referred to as Euro-NRG, Euro-electronica or Euro) is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the late 1980s in Europe. It combines many elements of hip hop, techno, Hi-NRG, house music, and Euro-Disco. This genre of music is heavily influenced by the use of rich vocals, sometimes with rapped verses. This, combined with cutting-edge synthesizers, strong bass rhythm and melodic hooks, establishes the core foundation of Euro-Dance music. History Background Euro-Dance music originated in the late 1980s in central Europe, especially in Germany, where rave parties were becoming popular. By 1987, a German party scene was started by Tauseef Alam, based on the well established Chicago house sound and Belgian new beat in Frankfurt. The following year saw acid house making a significant impact on popular consciousness in Germany and central Europe as it had in England. In 1989, German DJs Westbam and Dr. Motte established the Ufo Club, an illega ...

West Germany
West Germany is the colloquial term used to indicate the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG; german: Bundesrepublik Deutschland , BRD) between its formation on 23 May 1949 and the German reunification through the accession of East Germany on 3 October 1990. During the Cold War, the western portion of Germany and the associated territory of West Berlin were parts of the Western Bloc. West Germany was formed as a political entity during the Allied occupation of Germany after World War II, established from eleven states formed in the three Allied zones of occupation held by the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. The FRG's provisional capital was the city of Bonn, and the Cold War era country is retrospectively designated as the Bonn Republic. At the onset of the Cold War, Europe was divided between the Western and Eastern blocs. Germany was divided into the two countries. Initially, West Germany claimed an exclusive mandate for all of Germany, representing itself as t ...

All I Want (Captain Hollywood Project Song)
"All I Want" is a song recorded by the German musician known under the pseudonym of Captain Hollywood Project, released in May 1993 by labels Blow Up and Intercord as the third single from his debut album, '' Love Is Not Sex'' (1993). The song was co-written by Nosie Katzmann and was a hit in several countries, but achieved a minor success in comparison with the project's two previous singles, " More and More" and " Only with You". The single peaked at number two in Portugal and on the Canadian ''RPM'' Dance/Urban chart. On the Eurochart Hot 100, it reached number 22. Critical reception Larry Flick from '' Billboard'' wrote that the act that scored big with " More & More" "offers an equally sparkling gem from its noteworthy " Love Is Not Sex" set. Track travels down a slower, more R&B-flavored path, matching deep-voiced male rapping with sultry female belting at the chorus." Wendi Cermak from ''The Network Forty'' said that "here's yet another pop-influenced trance/ ambient . ...

Impossible (Captain Hollywood Project Song)
"Impossible" is a song by German musician Captain Hollywood Project. It was released in October 1993 as the fourth single from his debut album, '' Love Is Not Sex'' (1993), and features vocals by singer Kim Sanders. It was a sizeable hit in several countries, but like " All I Want", it achieved moderate success in comparison with the two previous Captain Hollywood Project's singles, " More and More" and " Only with You". A music video was also produced, but it did not feature Sanders. Critical reception Larry Flick from '' Billboard'' commented in his review of the '' Love Is Not Sex'' album, that "Impossible" "is another study in contrasts, as aptainHollywood ponders the darkness of greed and power, amid a flurry of active, rave-flavored synth-beats. It is during this particular track that he best exhibits the poise and command of rhyme needed to resurrect the dormant hip-house movement." James Masterton described it as " Euro-disco in the Culture Beat mould" in his weekly ...
