Tronics
The Tronics were a London-based band that released records from 1979 to 1984. The band was formed and fronted by musician, songwriter, and music producer Zarjaz Baby, also known as Ziro Baby. Background and influences The band was known for being primitive and strange, with an underground reputation. They released a string of highly acclaimed records during the post-punk and New wave music, new wave periods. Tronics has been recognised for releasing the first independent cassette album, ''Tronics'', to be distributed both nationally and internationally. The Tronics' cassette album was soon followed by another cassette album of outsider art rock, in 1980, ''What's the Hubub Bub'', that was later reissued on vinyl in 2013 on M'lady's Records. The last Tronics release was "Wild Cat Rock", a 7" record on Red Rhino Records in 1984. Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad genre of punk music that emerged in the late 1970s as musicians departed from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, instead adopting a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Inspired by punk's energy and DIY ethic but determined to break from rock cliches, artists experimented with styles like funk, electronic music, jazz, and dance music; the production techniques of dub and disco; and ideas from art and politics, including critical theory, modernist art, cinema and literature. ''Fact'' is a music publication that launched in the UK in 2003. It covers UK, US, and international music and youth culture topics, with particular focus on electronic, pop, rap, and experimental artists. Having started as a bi-monthly print magazine, ''Fact'' went digital in 2008, focusing on its website and online TV channel ''Fact TV'', which produces documentaries and videos including the series ''Against the Clock''. In November 2020 it returned to publishing a bi-annual print magazine. ''Fact'' produces weekly Fact Mixes. It previously produced the Singles Club review series, and Make Music, aimed at inspiring producers and bedroom musicians. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977.
