''Louie Spence's Showbusiness'' is a docusoap follow-up series to the hit show ''Pineapple Dance Studios''. After initially indicating that a second series of ''Pineapple Dance Studios'' would be produced, Sky1 reverted this decision due to failing to come to terms with studio owner Debbie Moore. ''Louie Spence's Showbusiness'' had the same format as its predecessor ''Pineapple Dance Studios'' and continued, among other things, to follow Pineapple Studios and its characters such as Louie Spence, Andrew Stone and Tricia Walsh-Smith Tricia Walsh-Smith (born 24 March 1956) is an English playwright and actress. Louie Spence (born 6 April 1969) is an English dancer, choreographer and television personality, best known for the TV show ''Pineapple Dance Studios''. He was a professional dancer in his youth, performing in West End musicals including ''Miss Saigon'', ''Cats'', and '' Closer to Heaven''. ''Pineapple Dance Studios'' was sold around the world and has aired on the US network Ovation since 28 September 2014. Early life and education Spence was born in Ponders End, Enfield in the north of Greater London and grew up in Braintree, Essex. He attended Notley High School before moving on to the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. The show gave viewers an insight into the world of Pineapple Dance Studios, a London dance complex, and introduced several employees including Louie Spence and Andrew Stone plus Pineapple Dance Studio regular Tricia Walsh-Smith. The show was first broadcast on 14 February 2010 on Sky1, with narration by ex-BBC newsreader Michael Buerk, it was presented in a documentary style that included impromptu dancing and the promotional tag-line: "Pineapple Dance Studios: bitching is fabulous!". Michael Duncan Buerk (born 18 February 1946) is a British journalist and newsreader. He presented BBC News from 1973 to 2002 and has been the host of BBC Radio 4's ''The Moral Maze'' since 1990. Pineapple Dance Studios' is a dance studio complex, performing arts school, and associated dancewear, clothing, and eyewear brand, based in London, England. Origin Pineapple Studios was founded by former model Debbie Moore, who had started dance lessons to alleviate weight gain caused by hypothyroidism. Following the closure of her local dance studio in Covent Garden, she failed to find a suitable alternative, so decided to open her own studio in the area. Pineapple Dance Studios opened in 1979, based in a former pineapple warehouse from which the company gets its name. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video.
