It is located next to Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT and the Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange. History Developed by City Developments Limited, Lot One was completed in August 1996 as the first major shopping mall in Choa Chu Kang. Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT Station
Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) interchange station in Choa Chu Kang, Singapore. It is an interchange between the North South line and Bukit Panjang LRT, serving as the western terminus of the latter. The station is located between Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange and Lot One in the Choa Chu Kang town centre. Currently, the station's LRT platform is the only station on the Bukit Panjang LRT to use a Spanish solution, and is the second rail station in Singapore to use such a configuration after VivoCity station on the Sentosa Express. Choa Chu Kang, alternatively spelt as Chua Chu Kang and often abbreviated as CCK, is a planning area and residential town located at the north-westernmost point of the West Region of Singapore. Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange
Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange is a bus interchange which mainly serves the residential neighbourhood of Choa Chu Kang. It is located at Choa Chu Kang Loop and connected to Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT station and the Lot One Shoppers' Mall. Opened in 1990, the old bus interchange was one of the oldest surviving bus interchanges in Singapore to remain intact from re-modification while still in service for 28 years until 15 December 2018. The new site opened on 16 December 2018. History Choa Chu Kang used to have a roadside bus terminal along Choa Chu Kang Way. It was later replaced by a bus interchange built beside the MRT station. Shaw Organisation is a film distribution company and cinema chain founded by brothers Runme Shaw and Run Run Shaw who went to Singapore in the 1920s to expand their family business founded by Runje Shaw. Choa Chu Kang Public Library is a public library on the 4th and 5th floor of Lot One, Choa Chu Kang. The library generates an average of 1.3 million loans each year. It is the second public library owned by the National Library Board to be located inside a mall. History 1997 to 2008 The library was first opened on 22 February 1997 on the 3rd floor of Lot One. It was opened by the then-Minister for Health and the Environment, Yeo Cheow Tong. The library had an area of 1,477 square-metres and a book collection of about 174,663 volumes and a journal collection of 9,837 volumes.
