Lospalos Posto Administrativo
Lospalos — sometimes erroneously written as ''Los Palos'', assuming a nonexistent Spanish etymology — is a city in East Timor, to the east of Dili, the national capital. Lospalos has a population of 17,186 (2006) and is the capital of Lautém Municipality and the Lospalos Administrative Post. The subdistrict has a population of 25,417 (2004). Internationally, "Lospalos" is mistakenly spelled as ''Los Palos'', suggesting a Spanish language, Spanish origin of the name. In fact, it is derived from ''Lohoasupala'', the name in Fataluku language, Fataluku, the local Papuan languages, Papuan language, although nowadays Fataluku speakers use the name ''Lospala''. Fataluku Language
Fataluku (also known as Dagaga, Dagoda', Dagada) is a Papuan language spoken by approximately 37,000 people of Fataluku ethnicity in the eastern areas of East Timor, especially around Lospalos. It is a member of the Timor-Alor-Pantar language family, which includes languages spoken both in East Timor and nearby regions of Indonesia. Fataluku's closest relative is Oirata, spoken on Kisar island, in the Moluccas of Indonesia. Fataluku is given the status of a national language under the constitution. Speakers of Fataluku normally have a command of Tetum and/or Indonesian. It has a considerable amount of Austronesian loanwords, and it has borrowed elements of Sanskrit and Arabic vocabulary via Malay. FC Beltatrez or Futebol Clube Beltatrez is an amateur football club of East Timor based in Oxford, England. History The club was initially founded in Lospalos, within the Lautem District of Timor Leste in 2004. During this time the team played in local competitions within the nation, including within the Campeao Regiao Leste in 2007. The club continued to play within East Timor until 2009. As of 2012 the club has been reestablished within Oxford, England as a Timorese representative side within the area. In 2018 the team competed within the Oxford Diversity Football League, finishing in 7th place out of the 9 competing teams. The Timorese Popular Democratic Association ( pt, Associação Popular Democrática Timorense, APODETI; id, Asosiasi Demokratik Rakyat Timor) was a political party in East Timor established in 1974, which advocated for integration into Indonesia. Along with another East Timor party, the Timorese Democratic Union (UDT), it signed the Balibo Declaration in 1975 calling for Indonesia to annex the region. The party led the Provisional Government of East Timor that was formed following the Indonesian invasion of East Timor 1975. Since 2000, the party used the suffix ''Pro-Referendo'' (Pro-referendum).
