''Los Beverly de Peralvillo'' is a 1971 Mexican comedy film directed by Fernando Cortés. The film is based on the television series of the same name. Synopsis El Borras marries La Pecas, unaware of her mother's (Doña Chole) scheme against Borras. That of Borras to provide for all her family members who are a lazy bunch composed of her father and brothers. Fernando Cortés
Fernando "Papi" Cortés (October 4, 1909 – 1979) was a Puerto Rican film actor, writer and director. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but he spent most of his adult life in Mexico City, where he died. On 1932, while in New York City, Fernando Cortés married Puerto Rican childhood friend María del Pilar Cordero, who adopted the stage name of Mapy Cortés. The couple soon traveled to Spain with a Cuban theatrical troupe. They worked on the Spanish stage, radio and film until the outbreak of the Civil War in 1936. Fernando progressively began to take a backseat as actor and baritone and focused on promoting the career of his wife Mapy, who became a noted ''vedette'' (showgirl with star status) in Barcelona. ''Los Beverly de Peralvillo'' is a Mexican sitcom that copied its similar name as a spoof from "The Beverly Hillbillies" that originally had aired from 1962 to 1971. Meanwhile, Los Beverly De Peralvillo aired from 1969 to 1973, including 2 motion pictures based on the Television show. It stars Guillermo Rivas, Leonorilda Ochoa, Arturo Castro, and Amparo Arozamena as the main characters. Guillermo Rivas (actor)
Guillermo Rivas Rowlatt (December 25, 1926 – March 19, 2004) was a Mexican character actor known for portraying "El Borras" in the Telesistema Mexicano sitcom ''Los Beverly de Peralvillo'' (1968–1973). Early life Rivas was born in Mexico City, Mexico, his father was Antonio Ribas Murphy (1901–1945) a Catalan, his mother was Maria Luisa Rowlatt Romana (1910–1983) British descendant. Career His first role in a film was in 1938, aged only eleven years old, ''The Cemetery of the Eagles'' starring Jorge Negrete. In 1947, he lived in New York City where his love for performing arts was born. While sharing stages with Mario Moreno 'Cantinflas', Silvia Pinal and Enrique Rambal, he made more over 100 television and movie appearances. Leonorilda Ochoa Pagaza (30 October 1939 – 22 May 2016) was a Mexican actress and comedian who appeared in film since the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, television, and theatre productions. She became popular as La Pecas in the sitcom ''Los Beverly de Peralvillo'' (1968-1973). Early life Ochoa was born in Mexico City, the fourth of five children. Her father, Rubén Ochoa Silva, was a violinist and bassist who played in the philharmonic orchestra of Mexico City. She made her debut at the age of 14 in various broadcasts of ''Los aficionados'', a program which was broadcast by the XEW radio station. She also studied accounting for two years.
