''Los 8 escalones'' (Spanish language, Spanish for ''The 8 steps'') was an Uruguayan television game show based on the original Argentine series ''Los 8 escalones''. It premiered on March 16, 2021 on Channel 4 (Uruguay), Channel 4. Gameplay The contestant must choose which "expert" wants to compete with. The game unfolds as the contestant answers general culture questions with four options and ascends an eight-step ladder as the answer is correct. A question corresponds to each step: if the participant answers correctly and the expert also answers, they go up one step; If the expert answers wrongly, go up two steps. If the participant answers wrong, descends one step and loses one of the three lives with which he begins to play. However, if the expert is also wrong, the participant remains on the same rung and does not lose any life. The game ends when all three lives are lost. ''Los 8 escalones'' (lit. The Eight Steps) is an Argentine game show, hosted by Guido Kaczka and broadcast on El Trece. Gameplay The objective of the game is to answer multiple choice trivia questions correctly to move up the stairs. Correctly answering one guarantees that the participant goes up the stairs, while an incorrect answer risks them going down a step as well as one of their three lives. The game ends when the participant loses all of their lives. When the participant manages to make it to the eighth step, he or she wins 10,000 pesos and can continue playing to increase their winnings. Julio César Frade Pintos, better known as Julio Frade (born 31 January 1943 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan pianist, actor, comedian and radio host. As a student, Frade spent a year as an exchange student in the United States with AFS Intercultural Programs, studying piano at Berklee College.
