Lord Provost's Rent Relief Cup
The Lord Provost's Rent Relief Cup comprised two separate football tournaments played in aid of the Lord Provost's Rent Relief Fund in 1921. Held in Edinburgh and Glasgow, both were one-off competitions. Various other tournaments and events were held to help the unemployed in 1921. Glasgow The six member clubs (Celtic, Clyde, Queen's Park, Partick Thistle, Rangers, and Third Lanark) of both the Glasgow FA and the Scottish Football League competed in the Glasgow tournament. All six teams were used to playing against each other in city knockout competitions, with both the Glasgow Cup and Glasgow Charity Cup held on an annual basis. Thomas Cairns (30 October 1892 – 30 November 1967) was a Scottish footballer who played for Bristol City, Peebles Rovers, St Johnstone, Rangers, Bradford City and Scotland. Career Club Born in Merryton, Lanarkshire, Cairns made his name in Junior football, helping Burnbank Athletic to the Scottish Junior Cup in 1911. He also appeared for Larkhall Thistle before earning an opportunity in the senior leagues. His first professional club was Bristol City where he played for two seasons from 1911. Ibrox Stadium is a football stadium on the south side of the River Clyde in the Ibrox area of Glasgow, Scotland. The home of Rangers Football Club, Ibrox is the third largest football stadium in Scotland, with an all-seated capacity of . Geordie Henderson
George Donald Henderson (15 April 1897 – 14 June 1953) was a Scottish footballer who played professionally in Scotland and briefly in the United States, England and Wales. Playing as a centre forward, he saw his greatest success with Rangers in the 1920s but was never capped by Scotland despite an excellent club scoring record. Football career Henderson was born in Forfar and began his professional career with hometown club Forfar Athletic.
