Ray Alan (18 September 1930 – 24 May 2010) was an English ventriloquist and television entertainer from the 1950s until the 1980s. He was associated primarily with the dummies Lord Charles and Ali Kat and later with the puppets Tich and Quackers. Lord Charles was the first ventriloquist's dummy to have his own personal microphone. Charles I, Lord Of Monaco
Charles I of Monaco (died 15 August 1357), Lord of Monaco, was a 14th century soldier and noble. He was a member of the Grimaldi dynasty. Biography The oldest son of Rainier I of Monaco, Rainier I by his first wife, Salvatica del Carretto, Charles was forced to flee into exile following the Rock of Monaco falling into Republic of Genoa, Genoese control on April 10, 1301. He was appointed Admiral of France. After thirty years of Genoese rule, Charles retook the Rock on 12 September 1331, and ruled until his death, when the Rock was again conquered by the Genoese army. Also he was Baron of San Demetrio, in the Kingdom of Naples. In 1346 he acquired the Lordship of Menton and, in 1355, he conquered the Lordship of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Roquebrune. Charles II, Lord Of Monaco
Charles II (26 January 1555 – 17 May 1589) was Lord of Monaco from 7 October 1581 to 17 May 1589. Charles was the eldest son of Honoré I (1522–1581) and Isabella Grimaldi (died 1583). He became Lord of Monaco on the death of his father in 1581. Protected by Spain, due to the Treaties of 1524, Charles was the first Lord of Monaco who refused to pay homage to the Dukes of Savoy for Mentone and Roccabruna. In 1583 he was declared, after a trial, to have forfeited those two cities. Charles ruled for only 8 years before dying at the age of 33. Curveball
In baseball and softball, the curveball is a type of pitch thrown with a characteristic grip and hand movement that imparts forward spin to the ball, causing it to dive as it approaches the plate. Varieties of curveball include the 12–6 curveball, power curveball, and the knuckle curve. Its close relatives are the slider and the slurve. The "curve" of the ball varies from pitcher to pitcher. The expression "to throw a curveball" essentially translates to introducing a significant deviation to a preceding concept. Charles Edwin Lord II also known as Charles E. Lord (April 26, 1928 in New York City – January 8, 1993 in Bridgeport, Connecticut) was an investment banker and appointed Vice-Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States of the United States by President Reagan. He also worked in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for the United States government, and became the acting Comptroller in 1981.
