''Lookin' for Trouble'' is the 1980 debut album of Canadian rock band Toronto. Most tracks on the album were released as a singles. The U.S. release uses different cover artwork and excludes the final track "Let's Spend the Night Together". The album reached Platinum status in Canada, but did not chart in the US. The original cover art was designed by Hugh Syme and was originally intended to be the cover art for Max Webster's '' High Class in Borrowed Shoes''. Toronto is a Canadians, Canadian Rock and roll, rock band formed in the late 1970s in Toronto, Ontario, and perhaps best known for the top-ten Canada, Canadian hit "Your Daddy Don't Know" (which also cracked the Billboard Hot 100, U.S. pop charts), and for writing and performing the original version of "What About Love," a song that would later become a top-ten comeback single for the band Heart (band), Heart. Biography The band started when singer Holly Woods, Annie "Holly" Woods met guitarist Brian Allen. The line-up was initially rounded out by guitarist/backing vocalist Sheron Alton, keyboardist Scott Kreyer, bassist Nick Costello, and drummer Jimmy Fox, but shifted constantly through the band's life. Jam! was a Canadian website which covers entertainment news. It was part of the Canoe.com online portal, formerly owned and operated by Quebecor through its Sun Media division, and now owned by Postmedia Network. Jam! was the only media outlet that published a comprehensive collection of the official Canadian record charts as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. CKXT-TV, Sun Media's television station in Toronto, aired a nightly entertainment magazine series, ''Inside Jam!''. However, due to low ratings the program's airtime was reduced substantially. Let's Spend The Night Together
"Let's Spend the Night Together" is a song written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and originally released by the Rolling Stones as a double A-sided single together with " Ruby Tuesday" in January 1967. It also appears as the opening track on the American version of their album ''Between the Buttons''. The song has been covered by various artists, including David Bowie in 1973. Recording The song was recorded in December 1966 at the RCA Records studio in Hollywood, California, where the group recorded most of their 1965–1966 hits. Recording engineer Glyn Johns recounts that while mixing "Let's Spend the Night Together", Oldham was trying to get a certain sound by clicking his fingers. Holly Woods
Anne Elizabeth "Holly" Woods (born August, 4 1953) is an American rock singer whose notable works include five albums in the rock band Toronto. Biography A native of Durham, North Carolina, Woods moved from San Francisco to Toronto in the mid-1970s, after fronting local bands Sass, and then Gambler. She initially performed in Toronto as Annie Woods and Shivers. She was introduced to Brian Allen in 1977 and, with the addition of Scott Kreyer, Nick Costello and Jimmy Fox (all native New Yorkers), plus Sheron Alton, the band Toronto was formed. After a string of Top 40 hits and nearly 700,000 albums sold, Toronto disbanded in 1985. In 1986, Woods and Kreyer regrouped and recorded a new album which was never released. Felix Cavaliere
Felix Cavaliere (born November 29, 1942) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known for being the lead vocalist and keyboard player for the Young Rascals. Although he was a member of Joey Dee and the Starliters, known for their hit "Peppermint Twist", he is best known for his association with the Young Rascals during the 1960s. The other members of the Rascals were Eddie Brigati, Dino Danelli and Gene Cornish. Cavaliere sang vocals on six of their successful singles and played the Hammond B-3 organ. Early life and education Cavaliere was born to an Italian American family in Pelham, New York on November 29, 1942. Eddie Brigati
Edward Brigati Jr. (born October 22, 1945) is an American singer-songwriter. He was the co-lead vocalist, along with Felix Cavaliere, and percussionist in the rock group The Young Rascals from 1964 to 1970. Prior to his stint with The Young Rascals (who later shortened their name to The Rascals), Brigati had been a member of Joey Dee and the Starliters (having replaced his brother, original Starliter David Brigati, in that group). With the help of group founder Billy (Smith) Amato and manager Sid Bernstein, the Rascals became the first all-white group signed to Atlantic Records. You Better Run
"You Better Run" is a song by the Young Rascals. Written by group members Eddie Brigati and Felix Cavaliere, it was released as the band's third single in 1966 and reached the top 20 in the United States. This song is noted for its repeated roller coaster musical chords in the bass guitar, going from C to B-flat to C to E-flat to B-flat to C. Critical reception A review in a 1966 issue of ''Billboard'' magazine described the song as a "big-beat wailer" and a "strong follow-up to 'Good Lovin'. In the book ''Pioneers of Rock and Roll'', author Harry Sumrall wrote that the song represented the apex of the band's sound and complimented guitarist Gene Cornish's "slashing chords". Max Webster was a Canadian hard rock band formed in Toronto in 1972. The band's founder, Kim Mitchell, enjoyed a long and successful solo career in their native Canada. Biography Initially a trio for their first gigs in December 1972, the original members were guitarist and vocalist Kim Mitchell, bassist Mike Tilka, and drummer Phil Trudell. The band were briefly called Stinky, then Special Delivery. They settled on Max Webster by early 1973, a name concocted by Tilka while playing with Daryl Stuermer in a Milwaukee band called Family at Mac's (Stuermer had written a song inspired by Ben Webster called "Song for Webster"). Hugh Syme
Hugh Syme is a Canadian Juno Award-winning graphic artist and member of the Premier Artists Collection (PAC) who is best known for his artwork and cover concepts for rock and metal bands. He is also a musician and has appeared on some Rush albums as a keyboard player. Syme is notably responsible for all of Rush's album cover art since 1975's ''Caress of Steel'' as well as creating Rush's famous Starman logo. In 1983 he told Jeffrey Morgan that he never imagined the band would use it as their main logo. Syme also plays piano on the album ''Thrilling Women'', which Morgan recorded with Dean Motter.
