Savi Gabizon
Savi Gabizon ( he, שבי גביזון; born 23 July 1960) is an Israeli filmmaker, screenwriter and producer. Career Gabizon grew up in Kiryat Yam, near Haifa. In 1974 he enrolled in the Haifa military academy. After military service he enrolled at Tel Aviv University, where he graduated in 1987 with a BA in film and television. Since 1993 he has taught film direction and scriptwriting there. He also teaches at the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School and at the Camera Oscura School of Art, both in Tel Aviv. He is a reservist in the film unit of the Israeli Army, and director of the drama department at the Reshet TV network. Films In 1986 Gabizon made a short, ''They Call Me Itzik''. His first feature film, ''Shuroo'', a satirical social comedy which he both wrote and directed, was released in 1991. Asi Levi
Osnat "Asi" Levi ( he, אסי לוי; born September 28, 1969) is an Israeli Film Academy Award winning actress. Career Levi attended and graduated the Yoram Levinstein School of Acting in southern Tel Aviv. Levi's early appearances include films such as '' HaShiva'' (1995), '' Kesher Ir'' (Urban Feel; 1998) and '' HaBoleshet Hokeret'' (The Investigation Must Go On; 2000), alongside Moshe Ivgy. For the latter two she received an Israeli Film Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She has also appeared in several television shows, including '' Cafe Paris'' and '' HaBurganim''. In 2004, she played the leading role in Raphael Nadjari's film '' Avanim'', which was presented in the Berlin Film Festival as a Panorama: Special Presentation, and also won several awards across Europe, including Best Film at the Cinema Tout Ecran in Geneva. Neta Riskin ( he, נטע ריסקין; born 28 October 1976) is an Israeli actress and journalist, best known for her role as Giti Weiss in the series ''Shtisel''. Riskin coached Israeli-born American actress Natalie Portman to speak Hebrew with an Israeli accent for ''A Tale of Love and Darkness''. Riskin was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, to secular Jewish architect parents. Her mother was born in Israel. Her father, a Holocaust survivor, was born in Lithuania. 2017 Toronto International Film Festival
The 42nd annual Toronto International Film Festival was held from 7 to 17 September 2017. There were fourteen programmes, with the Vanguard and City to City programmes both being retired from previous years, with the total number of films down by 20% from the 2016 edition. '' Borg/McEnroe'' directed by Janus Metz Pedersen opened the festival. According to a "fact sheet" released by the Festival before it began, this edition included 255 feature-length films and 84 short films. Of the feature films, 147 are claimed to be world premieres. The number of Canadian films at the Festival (including co-productions) is listed as 28 features and 29 shorts. Christopher Nolan's '' Dunkirk'' received a special IMAX 70mm screening at the Cinesphere as part of the main film slate and the 50th anniversary of IMAX, making it the first Nolan film to appear at the festival since ''Following'', nineteen years earlier.
