The Long Beach State Beach men's volleyball team is the NCAA Division I men's volleyball team for the Long Beach State University. Alan Knipe is the current head coach of 18 years, though he's been with the program since 2001. Alan Knipe
Alan Knipe (born January 1, 1969) is the head coach of the Long Beach State 49ers men's volleyball team and head coach of the 2012 Olympic Team United States men's national volleyball team. He played and coached at Long Beach State. As a player, he helped the team win the 1991 NCAA championship and an appearance in the 1990 NCAA Championships. and as a coach, he has guided them to seven final four appearances (2004, 2008, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022) and two national championships (2018, 2019). As a player, assistant coach and head coach, Knipe has helped Long Beach to 10 of the programs 12 NCAA Final four appearances. Playing career Knipe played on the Long Beach State 49ers men's volleyball team from 1990 to 1992. Big West Conference
The Big West Conference (BWC) is an American collegiate athletic conference whose member institutions participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The conference was originally formed on July 1, 1969, as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (PCAA), and in 1988 was renamed the Big West Conference. The conference stopped sponsoring college football after the 2000 season. Among the conference's 11 member institutions, 10 are located in California (with 9 located in Southern California alone) and one is located in Hawaii. The United States Center for SafeSport is an American 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2017 under the auspices of the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017. USA Volleyball (USAV) is a non-profit organization which is recognized as the national governing body of volleyball in the United States by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). Scott Touzinsky
Scott Joseph Touzinsky (born April 22, 1982) is an American volleyball player and coach. He was a member of the U.S. national team 2007–2018. With the national team, Touzinsky played in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and won a gold medal. Personal life Touzinsky was born in St. Louis to Charles and Anne Touzinsky, who are of Polish origin. He attended St. John Vianney High School in Kirkwood, Missouri, where he graduated in 2000. In 2006, Touzinsky married Angelique Vogel, a promotional spokesmodel. College career Touzinsky attended Long Beach State and finished his career as the single-season ace leader. In 2004, his senior season, he was an AVCA First Team All-American and became the all-time ace leader for Long Beach State.
