London Women's Sevens
The London Women's Sevens is part of the London Sevens, and was first played in 2012 when the IRB promoted a Women's Challenge tournament that was hosted alongside the existing men's tournament. In 2013 the tournament was an invitational event organised and sponsored by the RFU. The tournament was not held in 2014, but was reinstituted for the 2015 season as the first edition of the London Sevens to be a part of the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series. London Sevens
The London Sevens is an annual rugby sevens tournament held at Twickenham Stadium in London. It is part of the World Rugby Sevens Series. London was added to the World Series for the first time in 2001. For many years the London Sevens was the last tournament of each season but the Paris Sevens became the last stop on the calendar in 2018. The current titleholder of the London Sevens are Australia, who beat New Zealand in the 2022 final. The London Sevens is one of the more popular stops on the World Series. The 2011 London Sevens set a single-day attendance record of over 54,000 fans, surpassing the attendance record set by the Dubai Sevens. IRB Women's Sevens Challenge Cup
The IRB Women's Sevens Challenge Cup was a series of three tournaments run by the International Rugby Board for women's rugby sevens held for the 2011-12 season. England finished as the holders of the Cup and won two of the three tournaments. The first Challenge Cup tournament was held alongside the 2011 Dubai Sevens. Canada defeated England in the final to win the Cup. The second tournament was in Hong Kong, held alongside the 2012 Hong Kong Sevens on 23–24 March, with England claiming the Cup. England hosted the IRB Women's Sevens Challenge Cup alongside the London Sevens on 12–13 May for the third tournament in the series. The World Rugby Women's Sevens Series, is a series of international rugby sevens tournaments for women's national teams run by World Rugby. The inaugural series was held in 2012–13 as the successor to the IRB Women's Sevens Challenge Cup held the previous season. The competition has been sponsored by banking group HSBC since 2015. The series, the women's counterpart to the World Rugby Sevens Series, provides elite-level women's competition between rugby nations. Twickenham Stadium () in Twickenham, south-west London, England, is a rugby union stadium owned by the Rugby Football Union (RFU), English rugby union governing body, which has its headquarters there. The 2015 London Women's Sevens was the third edition of the London Women's Sevens, and the first tournament hosted in England to be a part of the Women's World Series. Twickenham is a suburban district in London, England. It is situated on the River Thames southwest of Charing Cross.
