In 2019 election, Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Dr.Mukesh Mahaling won by 13668 more votes from Biju Janata Dal's candidate Pradeep Kumar Behera. In 2009 election, Biju Janata Dal candidate Ramakanta Seth defeated Indian National Congress candidate Pandava Chandra Kumbhar by a margin of 4,093 votes. The Ganatanra Parishad (GP) or the All India Ganatantra Parishad (AIGP) was a regional political party based in Orissa state in eastern India from 1950 to 1962. This political party was formed by the former rulers of the erstwhile princely states and big landlords. It was founded in 1950 and Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo became its president. The Swatantra Party was an Indian classical liberal political party, that existed from 1959 to 1974. It was founded by C. Rajagopalachari in reaction to what he felt was the Jawaharlal Nehru-dominated Indian National Congress's increasingly socialist and statist outlook. It had a number of distinguished leaders, most of them old Congressmen, for example, C. Rajagopalachari, Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, Minoo Masani, N.G.
