Loes Adegeest
Loes Adegeest (born 7 August 1996) is a Dutch racing cyclist and former speed skater. As a cyclist, she currently rides for after riding for Irish IBCT team, and the Dutch amateur team Jan van Arckel and Parkhotel Valkenburg. On 26 February 2022, Adegeest won the women's race at the 2022 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships representing e-racing team Aeonian Race Team. In January of 2023 she won her first UCI Women's World Tour race, the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. In February of 2023 she prolongued her title as UCI Cycling Esports World Champion. The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race also known as Great Ocean Road Race or Cadel Road Race is an annual professional one-day road bicycle racing for both men and women starting and finishing in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, and routed along the picturesque Great Ocean Road. The first race was held in 2015, as the farewell race for Cadel Evans—Australia's only Tour de France winner or Road World Champion. The 2017 edition was added to the UCI World Tour for the first time. In November 2020, it was announced that the 2021 race would not be held due to the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic. This was due in part to a number of UCI WorldTour teams making the decision to stay in Europe due to uncertainty around international travel conditions and logistics of quarantine requirements.
