Lo Russo Clan
The Lo Russo clan was a Neapolitan Camorra clan operating on its territory within the city of Naples, concentrated specifically in the area of Miano, whose control extended throughout numerous neighborhoods in the north of the city for more than three decades. Since the fall of all the Lo Russo brothers, and the numerous arrests of most of its affiliates, the organization is considered overthrown. History The Lo Russo clan was formed in the late seventies by the Lo Russo brothers, Salvatore, Giuseppe, Mario and Carlo Lo Russo aka ''"i Capitoni"'' (The Captains). Salvatore Lo Russo
Salvatore Lo Russo (Naples, February 18, 1953) is a former member of the Camorra. Officially unemployed, Lo Russo was the head of the powerful Lo Russo clan, a Camorra clan, now defunct, that was based on its territory within the city of Naples, concentrated specifically in its stronghold of Miano. For over 30 years the Lo Russo's organization has extended its influence to numerous neighborhoods in the north of Naples, having branches in France and in Switzerland. Arrest He was arrested on August 30, 2007, by the Carabinieri at his home in Miano. Prior to that, he was arrested during a raid on May 16, 2006, but released a few days later due to lack of evidence. On the same day of his arrest, Raffaele Perfetto, one of his closest aides was also arrested at his home in Capodimonte. Michele Lo Russo
Michele Lo Russo, also referred to as Michele Lorusso, (1 February 1947 – 2 December 1983) was an Italian footballer who played as a defender. He played 418 matches for Lecce between 1970 and 1983, the most of any player in the history of the club. Lo Russo began his career at Bernalda, before joining Venosa two years later. After two years there, he joined Lecce, where he broke the club's all-time appearance record, which still stands today. His career was cut short due to his untimely death in 1983 aged only 36. He died along with his team-mate Ciro Pezzella in a car accident whilst travelling to an away match against Varese.
