Lloyd Wallace
Lloyd Wallace (born 13 February 1995) is a British freestyle skier who competed at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. Career Wallace was a gymnast, before switching to aerial skiing at the age of 14, after a family skiing holiday in Tignes, France. He won a bronze medal at the 2015 FIS Junior freestyle skiing championships. He was the first British skier to win a Europa Cup in men's aerial skiing at Airolo, Switzerland, in March 2015. In August 2017 whilst Wallace was training in Mettmenstetten, Switzerland, he had an accident which left him unconscious. He was then put in an induced coma. Wallace later said that the accident was caused by hitting the edge of a ramp. Wallace recovered at the Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, and returned to training two months after the accident. Team GB
Team GB is the brand name used since 1999 by the British Olympic Association (BOA) for their British Olympic team. The brand was developed after the nation's poor performance in the 1996 Summer Olympics, and is now a trademark of the BOA. It is meant to unify the team as one body, irrespective of each member athlete's particular sport. Officially, the team is the "Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic Team", although athletes from Northern Ireland may opt to compete under the auspices of the Olympic Federation of Ireland instead. 1998 Winter Olympics
The 1998 Winter Olympics, officially known as the and commonly known as Nagano 1998 ( ja, 長野1998), was a winter multi-sport event held from 7 to 22 February 1998, mainly in Nagano, Japan, with some events taking place in the nearby mountain communities of Hakuba, Karuizawa, Nozawa Onsen, and Yamanouchi. The city of Nagano had previously been a candidate to host the 1940 Winter Olympics (which were later cancelled), as well as the 1972 Winter Olympics, but had been eliminated at the national level by Sapporo on both occasions. Robin Wallace
Robin Wallace is a British former freestyle skier and coach of the Great Britain freestyle skiing team. He finished in the top 10 in over 20 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup events, and competed in a demonstration event at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Career Wallace took up skiing as a teenager, after a school ski trip. After working on an artificial slope, he joined the Southampton freestyle skiing team. Wallace came second at a junior ski ballet international competition. Wallace competed in the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup between 1981 and 1989. He finished in the top 10 at 22 events, and was at one time ranked sixth in the world. In 1984, Wallace was involved in a ski dancing and acrobats event at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre. Jilly Curry
Jilly Wallace ( Curry) is a British former freestyle skier, who won 29 FIS World Cup medals, which was the most for any British skier or snowboarder until 2020. She competed at the 1992 and 1994 Winter Olympics. She was World Champion in Laser-Run in 2019 (Women's Team) and 2022 (individual + mixed team masters) at the UIPM World Championships. Career Curry competed in freestyle skiing from 1984–1994. During her career, she won 29 FIS World Cup medals, including three gold medals.
