Live At The Brixton Academy (Faith No More Album)
''You Fat Bastards: Live at the Brixton Academy'' is the only officially released live album by Faith No More. It was recorded by William Shapland on April 28, 1990, in the Brixton Academy, London during the tour supporting their third studio album '' The Real Thing''. The album takes its title from a line from an English football chant which was sung by the crowd at the show. It was released on August 20, 1990, internationally and as an audio only version, under the name of ''Live at the Brixton Academy'', in the United Kingdom on February 4, 1991, with two bonus tracks from ''The Real Thing'' sessions. The bonus tracks "The Grade" and "The Cowboy Song" were previously released on the "From Out of Nowhere" 12-inch single but were added to this compilation in order for them to be available on CD. Faith No More
Faith No More is an American rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on the current name in July 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum and drummer Mike Bordin are the longest-remaining members of the band, having been involved since its inception. The band underwent several early lineup changes, and some major changes later. The current lineup of Faith No More consists of Gould, Bordin, Bottum, lead guitarist Jon Hudson, and vocalist/lyricist Mike Patton. After releasing six studio albums, including best-selling records ''The Real Thing'' (1989) and '' Angel Dust'' (1992), Faith No More officially announced its breakup on April 20, 1998. Falling To Pieces
"Falling to Pieces" is the third single on Faith No More's first studio album with Mike Patton on vocals, ''The Real Thing''. The song was released as a single on July 2, 1990. The song peaked at number 92 on the '' Billboard'' Hot 100 and number 40 on the ''Billboard'' Album Rock Tracks chart. The song has rarely been performed live due to the band's disdain for it. Live performances Despite its success, the song did not go on to be a live staple, appearing very rarely in concerts after their appearance at the 1993 Phoenix Festival, where Billy Gould announced, "This is the last time we'll ever play this song again" right before the song. During Second Coming Tour, the band picked up the song again and performed it at least once at a concert in Rio de Janeiro in 2009. Mike Bordin
Michael Andrew Bordin (born November 27, 1962) is an American musician, best known as the drummer for the rock band Faith No More. He has amicably been known as "Puffy", "Puffster" or "The Puff", in reference to the afro hair style he wore in the early 1980s. The nicknames were coined by Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin, and they stuck around even after he grew out his hair and tied it in dreadlocks, a trademark look he has worn for most of his career. Bordin was one of the three founding band members of Faith No More in 1983 and was the band's only drummer throughout its span, remaining with the group until its initial breakup in April 1998. He rejoined Faith No More when the band reformed in 2009. Roswell Christopher Bottum (born July 1, 1963) is an American musician, best known as the keyboardist for the San Francisco alternative metal band Faith No More. He is also guitarist and co-lead vocalist for the pop group Imperial Teen, best known for their 1999 single "Yoo Hoo" used in the movie '' Jawbreaker.'' William David Gould (born April 24, 1963 in Los Angeles, California) is an American musician and producer. He is best known as the bassist of Faith No More. Biography Early years Billy said he is of Hungarian descent from his father's side. Faith No More Gould started playing the bass while he was at Loyola High School in Los Angeles with future Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum. His first band during these early years was named "The Animated," a genre-bending new wave outfit that sounded something like a cross between The Buzzcocks, XTC and Michael Jackson. James Blanco Martin (born July 21, 1961, in Hayward, California), known professionally as "Big" Jim Martin, is an American guitarist best known for his membership in the rock band Faith No More from 1983 to late 1993. He also played guitar with the groups EZ-Street, Vicious Hatred, Agents of Misfortune, Recluse, and Pigs of Death. Martin was known for his long hair, bushy beard, and trademark red-rimmed glasses that he wears alone or over another darker pair of glasses.
