Pendulum is an Australian electronic rock band founded in 2002. Pendulum originally formed in the city of Perth, Western Australia, by Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. The band was later expanded to include members Ben Mount, Peredur ap Gwynedd and KJ Sawka. Members Swire and McGrillen also formed the electro house duo Knife Party. The group is notable for its distinctive sound, mixing electronic music with hard rock and covering a wide range of genres. In 2003, Swire, McGrillen and Harding relocated to the United Kingdom. The debut studio album, ''Hold Your Colour'', was released in 2005 to positive critical reception. Another Planet / Voyager
"Another Planet" / "Voyager" is the second single by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum. It was released on 23 February 2004 by independent label Breakbeat Kaos, and was their first single to use the 12-inch picture disc format. The single peaked at number 46 in the UK Singles Chart, and reached number one in the UK Dance Chart. The song "Another Planet" contains samples from Jeff Wayne's musical version of ''The War of the Worlds'', and was included on the CD edition of ''Hold Your Colour'' when it was released in July 2005. Both tracks appeared on the compilation album '' Jungle Sound: The Bassline Strikes Back!''. Ben Mount
Benjamin Mount, also known as Verse, Ben the Verse, The Verse and Pendulum Man, is an English rapper, MC, record producer and record label owner best known as the former MC in Australian/British drum and bass group Pendulum. Biography Pendulum Since 2006 and up until 2012 Ben has been the MC for Pendulum's Live Tours, remained their MC at DJ set events until mid 2017. In 2010, he made his studio debut on the band's album Immersion as the vocals to the song "The Vulture". Ben left the Pendulum Live shows to focus on creating his own songs and running his own label. Paul Kodish
Paul Kodish is a professional drummer raised in Willesden, London. Kodish has performed with a variety of different artists, including the hip hop act Whodini in 1986, and the drum and bass group Bad Company. He was also one of two drummers for the electronica band Apollo 440 between 1997 and 2005 and the drummer in the Australian-British drum and bass band Pendulum between 2006 and 2009. Kodish spent a short time in 2010 drumming with the Liverpool band Killaflaw, performing at several concerts and drumming for their debut album ''Sleaze and Grit''. Robert Swire-Thompson (born 5 November 1982) is an Australian musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ, best known as the founder and vocalist of the drum and bass and electronic rock band Pendulum (drum and bass band), Pendulum, as well as Disc jockey, DJ and co-founder of electro house duo Knife Party formed of Swire and Gareth McGrillen. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, he relocated to the United Kingdom in 2003 with fellow Pendulum co-founders Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. Swire has since fulfilled a broad spectrum of roles as a member of Pendulum, ranging from songwriter, songwriting to singing while performing live with an unusual guitar-like MIDI controller – Starr Labs' Ztar, Ztar Z6S-XPA. "Granite" is a song by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum, released as the first single from their second studio album ''In Silico''. It was released through Warner Music UK, and through the band's new Eatstorm imprint with Warner Music Group. The song entered the UK Singles Chart on 11 November 2007, peaking at number 29 on 2 December. The single is supposedly inspired by the likes of video game boss battles, including the theme of various battles against the Mario series' Bowser; it directly samples the beginning of the music from the castle stages in ''Super Mario World''. '' Q'' magazine named it 24th in the 50 top records of December 2007. When played in reverse, the main melody changes into the melody used in the end of the song, and vice versa. "Hold Your Colour" is a song by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum, released as the fifth single from their debut album ''Hold Your Colour'', and their eighth single overall. It was released as a double A-side by Breakbeat Kaos on 6 March 2006 in the UK. The single features two tracks from the album – a remix of "Hold Your Colour" and "Streamline". The song "Hold Your Colour" features guest guitarist Andrew Goddard and bassist Jon Stockman of Perth band Karnivool. The Bipolar mix of "Hold Your Colour" was featured on the soundtrack of ''FIFA Street 2''. According to Rob Swire, the intro vocal sample in "Hold Your Colour" ("Soaking through...") was taken from a track by Rob, Pendulum member Gareth McGrillen and ShockOne's old band Xygen. "Slam" is a song by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum. It was released on 19 September 2005 by independent label Breakbeat Kaos as a double A-side single with "Out Here", and it was their third release with the label. It peaked number 34 on the UK Singles Chart. Both songs have been included on their CD release of ''Hold Your Colour'' in July 2005. "Slam", as well as the "Prelude" track from ''Hold Your Colour'', samples spoken word sections from the Headhunterz song "Rock Civilization". When the song is performed live with the full band, the first minute and a half is cut out and replaced by part of the Metallica song, "Master of Puppets". However, when the song was played in DJ sets prior to 2006, the track "Prelude" was played before it, as "Slam" was always the first track played. The Other Side (Pendulum Song)
"The Other Side" is a song by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum, released as the third single from their second album ''In Silico''. It was released on 28 July 2008 to coincide with their iTunes Festival gig at London's KOKO. The song peaked at number 54 in the UK Singles Chart on 3 August, one week after it was first released. Critical reception "The Other Side" received mixed reviews. Simon Reynolds, of ''Digital Spy'', said in his review that the song "continues their switch to a more mainstream, 'chartable' sound", and that it "seems far too cluttered, noisy and confused to become a chart hit". He went on to say it "is percussive and clearly designed to get dance floors moving, but outside of that context it's little more than a boisterous, unwanted assault on the ear drums".
