Live a Little is the first solo album by American singer Big Kenny, prior to his joining John Rich in the duo Big & Rich. Recorded in 1999 for Hollywood Records, the album was not released until 2005, after Big & Rich had released their debut album. Its release coincided with the release of Rich's previously-unreleased debut album ''Underneath the Same Moon'', also recorded in 1999 and released in 2006. Unlike Kenny's work within the country music genre with Big & Rich, ''Live a Little'' is a mixture between rock and pop. "Live a Little" is a song written by David Lee Murphy and Shane Minor and recorded by American country music singer Kenny Chesney. It was released in March 2011 as the third single from Chesney's 2010 album ''Hemingway's Whiskey''. The song reached number one on the US '' Billboard'' Hot Country Songs chart in May 2011. Background and writing Chesney told the ''Nashville Music Scene'' that the song defines him as a person. Co-writer David Lee Murphy told ''The Boot'' that the two were just sitting around and Minor said he had a good idea for a song called "live a little, love a lot." Dean Alexander
Dean Alexander is an American country music singer. Alexander first worked as a landscaper for Barbara Orbison, wife of Roy Orbison, who offered him his first publishing deal. In 2006, Alexander moved to Nashville, Tennessee where Darren Theriault, who played bass guitar for Jypsi, invited him to perform at Layla's Bluegrass Inn. Alexander then became a regular performer there. Alexander released his debut single, "Live a Little", through Elektra Records in mid-2014. He wrote the song with Laura Veltz and co-produced it with Justin Weaver.
