New Brunswick Route 495
Route 495 is a long north–south secondary highway in the northwest portion of New Brunswick, Canada. The route's northern terminus is at the intersection of Route 134 and Route 505. It begins as Centennial Avenue West and travels south-west in the community of Rexton. The road runs parallel to the south bank of the Richibucto River as it travels south-west crossing Childs Creek. The road turns south and comes to the western terminus of Route 470 near Mundleville. The road then follows the St. Nicholas River as it crosses the East Branch River. The road continues to follow the South Branch River into the communities of South Branch, Balla Philip and Murphy Settlement before making a sharp 90 degree turn east. The road continues southeast passing the communities of Bastarache and Saint-Fabien before ending at Route 515 near Saint-Marie-de-Kent. The Lincoln Tunnel is an approximately tunnel under the Hudson River, connecting Weehawken, New Jersey, to the west with Midtown Manhattan in New York City to the east. It carries New Jersey Route 495 on the New Jersey side and unsigned New York State Route 495 on the New York side. It was designed by Ole Singstad and named after Abraham Lincoln. The tunnel consists of three vehicular tubes of varying lengths, with two traffic lanes in each tube. The center tube contains reversible lanes, while the northern and southern tubes exclusively carry westbound and eastbound traffic, respectively. The Lincoln Tunnel was originally proposed in the late 1920s and early 1930s as the Midtown Hudson Tunnel. The tubes of the Lincoln Tunnel were constructed in stages between 1934 and 1957. This route runs parallel to US 83 for its entire route. In McAllen, the route is also known as Pecan Blvd. Route description SH 495 begins at SH 364 (La Homa Road) in Palmview near I-2/US 83. The highway heads east along Pecan Boulevard through Mission to an intersection with SH 107 (Conway Avenue). It has an intersection with FM 494 (Shary Road) before entering McAllen. In McAllen, the highway has several major intersections with Farm to Market Roads to include FM 2220 (Ware Road), FM 1926 (23rd Street), SH 336 (10th Street) and FM 2061 (McColl Street). Route 495 is a freeway in Hudson County, New Jersey, in the United States that connects the New Jersey Turnpike (Interstate 95, I-95) at exits 16E and 17 in Secaucus to New York State Route 495 (NY 495) inside the Lincoln Tunnel in Weehawken, providing access to Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Maryland Route 495 (MD 495) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known for most of its length as Bittinger Road, the state highway runs from MD 135 in Altamont north to U.S. Route 40 Alternate (US 40 Alt) in Grantsville. MD 495 passes through rural areas of central Garrett County, connecting Bittinger with the northern and southern parts of the county.
