Eric, Or, Little By Little
''Eric, or, Little by Little'' is a book by Frederic W. Farrar, first edition 1858. It was published by Adam & Charles Black, Edinburgh and London. The book deals with the descent into moral turpitude of a boy at a boarding school or English public school of that era. The author's preface to the fourth edition reads: Summary Eric Williams is a son of a British colonial official and his wife stationed in India. As was common at the time of the British Raj, Eric is sent to Britain to be educated at a boarding school—in this case Roslyn School, where he encounters the good and bad aspects of the traditional public school. He slowly gets beaten down by being punished erroneously for wrongdoings, getting bullied and such things as drinking, smoking and cheating. The end is tragic for Eric, as he loses everything. Background and reception Along with Talbot Baines Reed's '' The Fifth Form at St. Dominic's'' and Thomas Hughes' ''Tom Brown's Schooldays'', this book was one of ...

Slow Motion (Supertramp Album)
''Slow Motion'' is the eleventh studio album by the English rock band Supertramp, released in April 2002. Overview In North America, ''Slow Motion'' was only available via mail-order from the band's website, released on their own label, and is the final album to date of new music from Supertramp as a band. The song "Goldrush" was actually written in the early 1970s under the first Supertramp line-up, by original guitarist Richard Palmer-James, and was used as the opening number in all their shows prior to ''Crime of the Century''. The band had tried to record it on several previous occasions, but had never before been able to recreate it in the studio to their satisfaction. While the album credits the song to Davies and Palmer-James only, Roger Hodgson has supposedly co-written it. Reception AllMusic wrote that the songs and blending of styles are brilliant, but that what would otherwise have been an outstanding album was spoiled by shoddy production. Track listing All song ...

The King Of Limbs
''The King of Limbs'' is the eighth studio album by the English rock band Radiohead. It was self-released on 18 February 2011 as a download, followed by a physical release on 28 March through XL Recordings internationally and TBD Records in North America. Following the more conventional instrumentation of ''In Rainbows'' (2007), ''The King of Limbs'' saw Radiohead move further from standard song structures and recording methods. They developed the album with their producer Nigel Godrich through sampling and looping; the singer, Thom Yorke, described it as "an expression of wildness and mutation". The artwork, by Yorke and his longtime collaborator Stanley Donwood, depicts nature and spirits inspired by fairy tales. Radiohead released no singles from ''The King of Limbs'', but released a music video for "Lotus Flower" featuring Yorke's dancing that inspired an internet meme. In 2012, they began an international tour, with several festival appearances. To perform the complex ...
