Little River (Etowah River Tributary)
The Little River is a U.S. Geological Survey. National Hydrography Dataset high-resolution flowline dataThe National Map, accessed April 27, 2011 tributary of the Etowah River in the U.S. state of Georgia in the United States. The Little River is located mostly in Cherokee County, and forms the jagged part of the Cherokee/Fulton (formerly Cherokee/ Milton) county line, and part of the more recent Milton city limit. The river flows generally from east to west, and divides the Woodstock area to the south and Holly Springs area to the north. Its largest tributary is Noonday Creek, a stream which flows north out of Cobb and through Cherokee County, and now also empties directly into the lake. The confluence with the Etowah River is now submerged beneath Lake Allatoona. Cherokee County is located in the US state of Georgia. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 266,620. The county seat is Canton. The county Board of Commissioners is the governing body, with members elected to office. Cherokee County is included in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. History Original territory Originally, Cherokee County was more like a territory than a county, covering lands northwest of the Chattahoochee River and Chestatee River except for Carroll County. This county was created December 26, 1831, by the state legislature. It was named after the Cherokee people who lived in the area at that time. Several other counties were carved out of these Cherokee lands as part of the Cherokee Land Lottery of 1832. State Route 20 (SR 20) is a state highway roughly in the shape of a capital J rotated ninety degrees to the left, which travels through portions of Floyd, Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Walton, Rockdale, Newton, and Henry counties in the northwestern and north-central parts of the U.S. state of Georgia. Rose Creek is an urban stream in San Diego, California that drains to Mission Bay. It flows in a north-to-south direction through Rose Canyon and San Clemente Canyon and their tributary canyons. Both Rose Creek and Rose Canyon are named for San Diego pioneer Louis Rose, who had a ranch in the canyon in the 1850s. The Rose Creek watershed comprises approximately 36 square miles. Interstate 575 (I-575) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway in the United States, which branches off I-75 in Kennesaw and connects the Atlanta metropolitan area with the North Georgia mountains, extending . ''Rubes'' is a syndicated newspaper single-panel cartoon created by Leigh Rubin on November 1, 1984. Publication history Leigh Rubin began making and distributing his own greeting cards in 1979 through his company Rubes. The cartoon ''Rubes'' began appearing in newspapers in 1984 and is since January 1989 syndicated by Creators Syndicate to over 400 newspapers worldwide, and was published in paperbacks from 1988 on. State Route 140 (SR 140) is a state highway in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It connects the Armuchee and Peachtree Corners areas, within portions of Floyd, Bartow, Cherokee, Fulton, Gwinnett counties. Route description SR 140 begins at an intersection with US 27/ SR 1 near Armuchee, within Floyd County. It travels east, crosses over the Oostanaula River, and meets SR 53 (New Calhoun Highway NE).
