Little Bill (book Series)
''Little Bill: Books for Beginning Readers'' is a series of twelve children's books by Bill Cosby and Varnette Honeywood. Cosby wrote the stories, while Honeywood created the characters and made the illustrations in her typical collage style. The books are aimed at readers aged 7 to 10 and were released from 1997 to 1999. The books follow a young African-American boy named Little Bill. Every story is told in the first person, and the books cover topics like boredom, bullies, honesty, courage, family, and friendship. The characters are rendered in a "bold, blocky" style with bright colors and simplified forms. All of the books were dedicated to Cosby's late son, Ennis Cosby, and the character of Little Bill was based on him. ''Little Bill'' is an American animated educational television series created by Bill Cosby. It is based on the ''Little Bill'' book series, written by Cosby with illustrations by Varnette P. Honeywood. Cosby also composed some of the theme music, appeared in live-action in the show's intro sequence, and voiced the recurring character of Captain Brainstorm. It was Cosby's second animated series, after ''Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids''. The show's main character, Little Bill, was inspired by both Cosby's childhood and by his late son, Ennis Cosby. Ennis Cosby
Ennis William Cosby (April 15, 1969 – January 16, 1997), the only son of American comedian Bill Cosby, was murdered on January 16, 1997, near Interstate 405 in Los Angeles, California. He was shot in the head by 18-year-old Mikhail Markhasev in a failed robbery attempt. Cosby was 27 years old. Cosby's death resulted in significant media coverage, public outrage and an outpouring of support for the Cosby family. Seeking the $100,000 reward offered by the ''National Enquirer'', an acquaintance of the shooter provided information that led to Markhasev's arrest in March 1997.
