This is a list of comics based on films. Often a film becomes successful, popular or attains cult status and the franchise produces spin-offs that may include comics. The comics can be direct adaptations of the film, a continuation of the story using the characters, or both. Comics allow a degree of flexibility which can result in crossovers with other film characters as well as those from comics.
