An unconstituted locality (french: localité non constituée, link=no) is a specific type of designated place in Quebec, a small community that has not been constituted as a municipality (Quebec uses the term "constituted" rather than "incorporated"). Designated places are defined by provinces and territories of Canada in cooperation with Statistics Canada, and Quebec has two kinds: dissolved municipalities (french: municipalité dissoute) and unconstituted localities. Dissolved municipalities are often the result of mergers and amalgamations (see Municipal history of Quebec and :Former municipalities in Quebec), and in some cases Statistics Canada chooses to keep tracking population and other figures for census purposes over the territory of the pre-merger municipality. However, unconstituted localities never had the status of municipality to begin with. Designated Place
A designated place (DPL) is a type of community or settlement identified by Statistics Canada that does not meet the criteria used to define municipalities or population centres. DPLs are delineated every 5 years for the Canadian census as the statistical counterparts of incorporated places such as cities, towns, and villages. Though lacking separate municipal government, DPLs otherwise physically resemble incorporated places. They are created by provincial or territorial governments for the purpose of providing data for settled concentrated populations that are identifiable by name but are not legally incorporated under the laws of the province/territory in which they are located. The boundaries of a DPL therefore have no legal status, and not all unincorporated communities are necessarily granted DPL status. La Romaine is an unconstituted locality (as defined by Statistics Canada in the Canada 2011 Census) within the municipality of Côte-Nord-du-Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec, Canada. Its population in the 2011 census was 96. It is directly adjacent to the much larger (in population) Indian reserve of the same name. In 2017, Mrs Danielle Collard acts as the municipal secretary. Saint-Jean-de-Dieu is a municipality (Quebec), municipality in Quebec, Canada. The municipality had a population of 1,606 in the Canada 2011 Census. La Romaine, Quebec
La Romaine, also known as Unamenshipit in Innu-aimun, is an Innu First Nations reserve in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec, Canada, at the mouth of the Olomane River on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. It belongs to the Innu band of Unamen Shipu. Being an enclave within the Municipality of Côte-Nord-du-Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent, it is geographically within Le Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent Regional County Municipality but administratively not part of it. Directly adjacent to the reserve is the community of La Romaine consisting of a small French-speaking population. La Romaine is only accessible by boat or via the La Romaine Airport. The Bas-Saint-Laurent (Lower Saint-Lawrence), is an administrative region of Quebec located along the south shore of the lower Saint Lawrence River in Quebec. The river widens at this place, later becoming a bay that discharges into the Atlantic Ocean and is often nicknamed ''"Bas-du-Fleuve"'' (Lower-River). Radisson, Quebec
Radisson is a small unconstituted locality situated near the Robert-Bourassa hydroelectric power station on the La Grande River in the James Bay region of Quebec, Canada. Geographically, Radisson is located halfway between the southern and northernmost points in Quebec and is, besides Schefferville, the only non-native town north of the 53rd parallel in this province. Despite its remoteness, Radisson has plenty of services for its residents and travellers: two fuel stations, hotel, motel, campground (summer only), a general store, restaurants, gift shops, a school and a hospital. Bonne-Espérance () is a municipality in the Côte-Nord region of the province of Quebec in Canada.
