Sony E-mount
The E-mount is a lens mount designed by Sony for their NEX ("New E-mount eXperience") and ILCE series of camcorders and mirrorless cameras. The E-mount supplements Sony's α mount, allowing the company to develop more compact imaging devices while maintaining compatibility with 35mm sensors. E-mount achieves this by: * Minimising mechanical complexity, removing mechanical aperture and focus drive. * Shortening the flange focal distance to 18 mm compared with earlier offerings from Sony which used 44.5 mm. * Reducing the radius of the flange. The short flange focal distance prohibits the use of an optical viewfinder, as a mirror box mechanism cannot be included in this reduced distance. SteadyShot is the trademarked name of the integrated image stabilisation technologies used in Sony video camcorders, DSLR cameras, Mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, mirrorless cameras and on Sony Xperia smartphones and Tablet computer, tablets. Exchangeable image file format (officially Exif, according to JEIDA/JEITA/CIPA specifications) is a standard that specifies formats for images, sound, and ancillary tags used by digital cameras (including smartphones), scanners and other systems handling image and sound files recorded by digital cameras. The specification uses the following existing encoding formats with the addition of specific metadata tags: JPEG lossy coding for compressed image files, TIFF Rev. 6.0 (RGB or YCbCr) for uncompressed image files, and RIFF WAV for audio files (linear PCM or ITU-T G.711 μ-law PCM for uncompressed audio data, and IMA-ADPCM for compressed audio data). The Zeiss Batis Distagon T* 2/25mm is a full-frame (FE) wide-angle prime lens for the Sony E-mount, announced by Zeiss on April 22, 2015. Though designed for Sony's full frame E-mount cameras, the lens can be used on Sony's APS-C E-mount camera bodies, with an equivalent full-frame field-of-view of 37.5mm. Build quality The lens features a weather resistant aluminum barrel construction with a matte black finish and a rubber focus ring. Along with the Zeiss Batis Sonnar T* 85mm F1.8, the Batis Distagon 25mm was one of the first two lenses in which the traditional distance scale on the lens is replaced with an OLED display. The OLED display is integrated into the top of the lens barrel, and highlights the focus distance and depth of field range of the lens, which can be set to display at all times, never, or only when focusing manually.
