This is a list of the largest stations in Australia, which includes stations with an area in excess of . All of the largest pastoral leases are located in the states of South Australia (SA), Queensland (QLD) and Western Australia (WA); or in the Northern Territory (NT). The vast majority are cattle stations, with no sheep stations among the ten largest. Most of the properties are owned by pastoral companies such as Australian Agricultural Company, Consolidated Pastoral Company, S. Kidman & Co Ltd, North Australian Pastoral Company, Heytesbury Pty. The owner of a station is called a pastoralism, pastoralist or a wikt:grazier, grazier, corresponding to the North American term "rancher". Originally ''station'' referred to the homestead (buildings), homestead – the owner's house and associated outbuildings of a pastoral property, but it now generally refers to the whole holding. Stations in Australia are on Crown land pastoral leases, and may also be known more specifically as sheep stations or cattle stations, as most are stock-specific, dependent upon the region and rainfall. Curtin Springs
Curtin Springs is a pastoral lease operating as a cattle station in the Alice Springs region of the Northern Territory of Australia. Occupying an area of , the working cattle station and roadhouse facility is located on the Lasseter Highway, east of Yulara and the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The property shares a boundary with pastoral leases Angas Downs to the north west, Lyndavale to the south east and Mulga Park to the south. It also abuts the Katiti Aboriginal Land Trust to the west. The land was originally known as Mount Conner Station in the 1930s when it was first taken up by Paddy DeConlay. Abraham Andrews leased Mt Conner Station, together with vacant crown land, which became known as Curtin Springs Station around 1956, after John Curtin. Andrews originally considered the name Stalin Springs but his children felt it was inappropriate. Brunette Downs Station, mostly referred to as Brunette Downs, is a pastoral lease operating as a cattle station in the Northern Territory of Australia. Location Brunette Downs Station is located in the Northern Territory about north-east of Tennant Creek, Northern Territory, Tennant Creek and about north west of Camooweal in Queensland. It is bounded by Rockhampton Downs Station to the west, Alroy Downs to the south, Mittiebah Station, Mittiebah and Alexandria Station (Northern Territory), Alexandria Station to the east and Cresswell Downs to the north.
