Mediaset España (), full name Mediaset España Comunicación, S.A., is a Spanish media company, controlled by the Italian company MFE - MediaForEurope. Disney Channel is a Spanish terrestrial television channel owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company Iberia (Disney Spain & Portugal). It was launched on 17 April 1998 as a pay television channel, aimed for children to teenagers. On 2001, Disney launched a timeshift channel 'Disney Channel +1', broadcasts the same programming one hour late. GOL PLAY is a Spanish sports television network dedicated fully to football (from 2009) and other sports (from 2016). The channel, created by Mediapro in September 2008, is distributed through cable operators, Internet television, and from August 2009, through digital terrestrial television. Mediapro's original intention was to broadcast the channel through terrestrial television, opening a slot for pay television, and in 2009 negotiations began with the Government of Spain. Divinity is a private Spanish television channel owned by Mediaset España, whose programming is aimed to target women. Divinity began test broadcasts on 1 March 2011 before fully launching on 1 April 2011. LaNueve project With the expansion of the number of channels in 2010, before the merger of Telecinco and Cuatro, Telecinco was considering launching a free channel dedicated to women. The channel would have been launched on 1 September 2010 as "LaNueve" (The Nine) corresponding to its logical channel number on digital terrestrial television.
