This is a list of the tallest buildings in British Columbia that ranks skyscrapers and high-rise buildings in the province of British Columbia, Canada, by height. Buildings in six cities are included in this list; Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Surrey, and Kelowna, each having buildings taller than 100 meters. The tallest building in the province is the 62-storey, , Living Shangri-La located in Vancouver. In Vancouver, municipal regulations forbid any building from exceeding 200 meters (656 ft) in height above mean sea level in order to preserve sight lines out toward the Pacific Ranges. The maximum limit is currently attained by Living Shangri-La. Despite this, Vancouver has more high-rise buildings per capita than most North American metropolitan centres with populations exceeding 1,000,000. One Wall Centre, also known as the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre North Tower, is a 48-storey, skyscraper hotel with residential condominiums in the Wall Centre (Vancouver), Wall Centre development at 1088 Burrard Street in Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Vancouver House is a neo-futurist residential skyscraper in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Overview Construction of the skyscraper began in 2016 and was expected to be finished by the end of 2019, but completion was postponed to summer of 2020. Design Vancouver House was designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels. The design is based on a triangle that rises from the ground and gradually transitions into a rectangle as it ascends to the top. The design reflects the constraints of developing the triangular-shaped plot of land immediately east of the Howe Street on-ramp of the Granville Street Bridge. The east and west facades of the building feature box-shaped balconies, giving the building's exterior a honeycomb texture. Sovereign is a skyscraper in Metrotown, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, designed and built by Bosa Properties Inc. on Willingdon Avenue and Kingsway. The building is located northwest of Metrotown and stands at tall. It has 45 storeys which include hotel and residence space. Hotel Georgia is a 12-story historic hotel located at 801 West Georgia Street in the city's downtown core of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. History It was opened on May 7, 1927. The architects were Robert T. Garrow and John Graham Sr. Sold in early 2007 by owner Allied Hotel Properties Inc, the hotel, then operating as the Crowne Plaza Hotel Georgia underwent restoration and was unveiled on July 15, 2011, as Rosewood Hotel Georgia, managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. In the process of the renovation, its 313 rooms were reduced to 155. The building and many portions of the interior are designated as a protected heritage property by the City of Vancouver.
