Kara (South Korean Band)
Kara (Hangul: 카라, Japanese: カラ, often stylized as KARA) is a South Korean pop girl group formed by DSP Media in 2007. The group's final lineup was composed of Gyuri, Seungyeon, Hara and Youngji. Members Nicole and Jiyoung officially departed from the group in 2014, but rejoined the group for their 15th anniversary in 2022, while ex-member Sunghee left in 2008. The group originally started off as a quartet and made their debut in March 2007 with their first studio album ''The First Blooming'' and its single "Break It" while displaying a strong female image and a mature R&B sound. Expectations for the group were big because they were considered as successors to their senior labelmate, Fin.K.L. However, their debut was not well received by the public and was a commercial failure. Han Seung-yeon (born July 24, 1988), better known mononymously as Seungyeon, is a South Korean singer and actress. She is best known as the main vocalist of the South Korean girl group Kara and for her role in ''Hello, My Twenties!''. Early life and career beginnings Han Seung-yeon was born on July 24, 1988, in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, South Korea. She made her acting debut as a child actress in a bit part in ''Dear Ends'' (1993), ''Summer Showers'' (1995) and ''Star in My Heart'' (1997). She later left South Korea to study at Tenafly High School in New Jersey, United States. However, she withdrew from high school mid-course in order to pursue a singing career. After returning to South Korea, she debuted as a member of girl group Kara on March 29, 2007. ''Pandora'' is the fifth extended play (EP) by South Korean girl group Kara, released on August 22, 2012. Background On August 6, 2012, the title track of the album was revealed. The song was apparently leaked at KBS' radio show, 2FM Super Junior's "Kiss the Radio" on August 17. Following the leak, the group's representatives and the staff working for the show apologized on Twitter and posted a message on the radio community board. On August 7, 2012, the title was revealed by Kara's agency and explained its origin from Greek mythology. The concept of the album was to show the group's matured charms through a modern interpretation of ''Pandora's Box''. Steward Ho for ''M.net'' noted that the group were about to "ditch their younger image and look more like empowered women". Jet Coaster Love
is the third Japanese single of South Korean girl group Kara. The single was originally set to be released on March 23, 2011, but following the 2011 Great Tohoku Earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan, the physical single was rescheduled to April 6, 2011. In order to help out the areas affected by the disaster, the group had decided to donate all proceeds from the sales of this single, both physical and digital, to relief efforts.
