Aguascalientes (state)
Aguascalientes (; ), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Aguascalientes ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Aguascalientes), is one of the 32 states which comprise the Federal Entities of Mexico. At 22°N and with an average altitude of above sea level it is predominantly of semi-arid climate ( Bhs and Bhk), and it is located in the northern part of the Bajío region, in north-central Mexico, bordered by Zacatecas to the north, east and west, and by Jalisco to the south. As of 2019, Aguascalientes has a population of 1.4 million inhabitants, most of whom live in its capital city, also named Aguascalientes. Its name means "hot waters" and originated from the abundance of hot springs originally found in the area. The demonym for the state's inhabitants is ''hidrocálido'' or ''aguascalentense''. At 22°N and ..., broadcasting on 107.7 MHz. XHYZ is owned by Radiogrupo and carries a Regional Mexican format known as La Poderosa. History XEYZ-AM received its concession on January 2, 1950. It was owned by Radiodifusión del Centro, S.A., and broadcast on 1450 kHz, with 100 watts. In 1985, XEYZ slid down the dial to 1260 kHz. Radio y Publicidad de Aguascalientes bought XEYZ in 1993. XHLTZ-FM is a radio station in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, Mexico. It broadcasts regional Mexican music on 106.1 FM as "La Ranchera". History XELTZ-AM 740 received its concession on April 30, 1979. It moved from Loreto in two stages, first to El Puertecito de la Virgen, and then to Aguascalientes proper in December 2002. XELTZ migrated to FM in 2010 and carried the FM Globo romantic format from MVS Radio and Radio Universal. In May 2011, the station was sold to Grupo Radiofónico ZER, which changed the station and renamed it La Tremenda. The present La Ranchera format was adopted in 2012. XHCAA-FM is a radio station in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, Mexico. Broadcasting on 100.9 FM, XHCAA is owned by Radio Universal and carries the Stereorey format from MVS Radio.
