Fuse is an American pay television channel launched in 1994 which was originally dedicated to music. After merging with the Latino-oriented NuvoTV in 2015, Fuse shifted its focus to general entertainment and lifestyle programming targeting multicultural young adults. As of February 2015, Fuse was available to approximately 71,491,000 pay television households (61.4% of households with television) in the United States. With a number of cable operators, including major providers such as Verizon Fios, discontinuing their carriage since 2015, it currently has an availability of around 38 million pay television households. Hoppus On Music
''Hoppus On Music'', previously titled ''A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus'', is a talk show hosted by Blink-182 and +44 singer/bassist Mark Hoppus. The show premiered on September 16, 2010, on Fuse, and lasted until June 2012. The show formerly featured comedian Amy Schumer as the co-host. Background The show focused on music news, humorous panel discussions and special reports from the show's correspondents. The show also featured musical performances by both mainstream and emerging bands. On January 18, 2011, Mark Hoppus announced via Twitter, that the show was renamed to, ''Hoppus On Music''. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, established in 1983 and located in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, is dedicated to recording the history of some of the best-known and most influential musicians, bands, producers, and others that have in some major way influenced the music industry, particularly in the area of rock and roll. Originally, there were four categories of induction: performers, non-performers, early influences, and lifetime achievement. In 2000, "sidemen" was introduced as a category. The only category that has seen new inductees every single year is the performers category. Artists become eligible for induction in that category 25 years after the release of their first record. In order to be inducted, an artist must be nominated by a committee that selects a number of candidates, the highest being 16 for the 2020 class. ''Metal Asylum'' is an American television program about heavy metal on Fuse. Hosted by Mistress Juliya, it served as a slightly subtler incarnation of the popular ''Uranium'' and even coexisted with it under the same host. ''Metal Asylum'' traditionally ran a half-hour, typically on a nightly basis at 11pm ET, and deemphasized band interviews in favor of simply playing music videos, largely of the heavy metal genre. The show's production ended in 2006 due to Chernetsky's departure from Fuse TV. Overview In contrast to ''Uranium'', interviews were rare. A typical episode of ''Metal Asylum'' would have Chernetsky standing solo in a shady lit studio, briefly discussing bands before playing their videos. As opposed to ''Uranium'' where Chernetsky could fly off the cuff most of the time, on ''Metal Asylum'' she read off a script on a teleprompter.
