Istria County
Istria County (; hr, Istarska županija; it, Regione istriana, "Istrian Region") is the westernmost county of Croatia which includes the biggest part of the Istrian peninsula ( out of , or 89%). Administrative centers in the county are Pazin, Pula and Poreč. Istria County is the most prominent Italian-speaking part of Croatia. Istrian Social Democratic Forum
Istrian Socialdemocratic Forum ( hr, Istarski socijaldemokratski forum, ISDF, it, Foro social democratico Istriano, FSDI) was a regional left-wing political party in Istria County of Croatia. Istrian Democratic Assembly
The Istrian Democratic Assembly ( hr, Istarski demokratski sabor, it, Dieta democratica istriana or IDS-DDI) is a centre to centre-left, regionalist, liberal political party in Croatia primarily operating in Istria County. IDS was founded on the 14 February 1990 by the writer Ivan Pauletta. IDS embraces principles of respect for human rights and freedoms, regionalism and historical characteristics of Istria, protection of private property and anti-fascism. Party advocates decentralization of Croatia, further development of the Adriatic Euroregion and the establishment of a transnational and cross-border euro-region encompassing the whole of Istria. Ivan Jakovčić
Ivan Jakovčić (born 15 November 1957) is a Croatian politician who served as prefect of Istria County from 2001 to 2013. Political career After finishing primary and secondary education in Poreč, Jakovčić graduated from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Foreign Trade in 1980. In the 1980s Jakovčić worked in exports and marketing divisions of the Istrian company Pazinka and after that became an entrepreneur and took part in investments in Austria and Croatia. In 1991 he entered politics and was elected chairman of the Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS), an Istrian regional party. He was elected to the Croatian Parliament five times, in the 1992, 1995 and 2000 Croatian parliamentary election, 2000 elections. Valter Flego (born 15 August 1972) is a Croatian politician who has been a Member of the European Parliament for Croatia since 2 July 2019. Previously he had served as the 4th prefect of Istria County from 2013 to 2019, as well as he served three terms as mayor of the town of Buzet. He is a member of the liberal Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) party. Boris Miletić
Boris Miletić (; born 2 September 1975) is a Croatian economist and politician who has been List of prefects of Istria County, prefect of Istria County since 2021 and president of the Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) from 2014 to 2021. Miletić did his undergraduate studies at the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, Pula Faculty of Economics and Tourism "Dr. Mijo Mirković" in 1999, and would return to get his master's degree in 2002.
