Candid Camera
''Candid Camera'' is a popular and long-running American hidden camera reality television series. Versions of the show appeared on television from 1948 until 2014. Originally created and produced by Allen Funt, it often featured practical jokes, and initially began on radio as ''The Candid Microphone'' on June 28, 1947. After a series of theatrical film shorts, also titled ''Candid Microphone'', Funt's concept came to television on August 10, 1948, and continued into the 1970s. Egging is the act of throwing eggs at people or property. The eggs are usually raw, but can be hard-boiled or rotten. A devious lick, also known as a diabolical lick, dastardly lick, or nefarious lick, amongst other names, was a viral 2021 TikTok challenge in which American middle or high school students posted videos of themselves stealing, vandalizing, or showing off one or more items they stole in their school, typically from a bathroom (or, in some cases, merely pretending to have done so). Culture jamming (sometimes also guerrilla communication) is a form of protest used by many anti-consumerist social movements to disrupt or subvert media culture and its mainstream cultural institutions, including corporate advertising. "Chinese fire drill" is a slang term for a situation that is chaotic or confusing, possibly due to poor or misunderstood instructions. A Chinese finger trap (also known as a Chinese finger puzzle, Chinese thumb cuff, Chinese handcuffs, and similar variants) is a gag toy used to play a practical joke on unsuspecting children and adults.
