Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression initially inspired by post-punk and noise rock. Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. It was initially inspired by post-punk and noise rock. Like post-punk, the term has been applied to a broad constellation of groups. Post-hardcore began in the 1980s with bands like Hüsker Dü and Minutemen (band), Minutemen. The genre expanded in the 1980s and 1990s with releases by bands from cities that had established hardcore scenes, such as Fugazi from Washington, D.C. as well as groups such as Big Black and Jawbox that stuck closer to post-hardcore's noise rock roots. Akissforjersey is an American post-hardcore band from Pilot Mountain, North Carolina formed in July 2004. The current lineup consists of vocalist Zach Dawson, drummer Joey Allen, guitarists Tyler Lucas and Bob Gassett, and bassist Parker Williams. The band released their debut studio album, ''Keep Your Head Above the Water'', in 2006 through Tragic Hero Records. Their sophomore album ''Victims'' was released through Tragic Hero Records again in 2008. They signed to inVogue Records in 2014 and released their third album ''New Bodies'' on January 21, 2014. Annisokay (stylized as annisokay, pronounced ''Ann is okay'') is a German post-hardcore band from Halle, Saxony-Anhalt. Currently consists of scream vocalist Rudi Schwarzer, guitarist/clean vocalist Christoph Wieczorek, bassist Norbert Rose and drummer Nico Vaeen. Up to date Annisokay released two demo-CDs, two EP and five studio albums: ''The Lucid Dream r' was originally self-released in 2012 (2013 via Radtone Records in Japan) and was re-released in 2014 when the band signed a label deal with SPV GmbH. Anatomy of a Ghost was an American emo band from Portland, Oregon, some of whose members originally hailed from Alaska. History Anatomy of a Ghost formed early in 2002 and gained popularity through live performances and through internet promotional channels. Alive Like Me was a short lived American rock band from Eugene, Oregon, formed in 2013. The band was signed to Rise Records. Their debut album, '' Only Forever'', was released on October 3, 2014. History The band formed in 2013, when lead singer Jairus Kersey and bassist David Knox decided to give their adolescent dreams one more shot.
