Windsor, Ontario
Windsor is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, on the south bank of the Detroit River directly across from Detroit, Michigan, United States. Geographically located within but administratively independent of Essex County, it is the southernmost city in Canada and marks the southwestern end of the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor. Bill Brady (journalist)
William Brady, CM (born 1932) is a Canadian print and radio journalist, manager and executive who has been involved with various local and national organizations. Early life Brady was born in Windsor, Ontario and located to London in the 1950s to work in radio broadcasting. He is regarded as a pioneer of the telephone call-in show in Canada. Career Brady's daily radio program was on the air in the Southwestern Ontario region for more than 20 years. He also hosted a game show called ''Act Fast'' on the local television station CFPL-TV. Beyond his capacity as a radio personality for CFPL radio in London, Brady became more involved in the management of the station, eventually, in 1983 becoming the general manager. He went on to become president of operations for the Blackburn Radio company (owners of CFPL and five other stations) in 1993. Patrick Michael Boutette (born March 1, 1952) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He played in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Hartford Whalers, and Pittsburgh Penguins between 1975 and 1985. Internationally he played for the Canadian national team at the 1981 World Championships. The Windsor Spitfires are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The team is based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The Ontario Hockey League (OHL; french: Ligue de hockey de l'Ontario (LHO)) is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues which constitute the Canadian Hockey League. The San Jose Sharks are a professional ice hockey team based in San Jose, California. Robert Douglas Boughner ( ; born March 8, 1971), nicknamed "The Boogieman", is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently an associate coach for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). As head coach of the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League, Boughner won two Memorial Cup Canadian major junior national championships, in 2009 and 2010 and won the CHL's Brian Kilrea Coach of the Year Award twice, in 2008 and 2009. James Bondy (born ) is a Canadian entertainer who co-hosted ''Ribert and Robert's Wonderworld'', a children's show that aired on public television from 2005 to 2008. Early life and education Bondy had aspirations to become a hockey player or a dentist while in school, but a high school drama coach encouraged him to try out for a school play. He was cast as a lead and starred in every school play through graduation. In 1993, Bondy was accepted into the musical theater degree program at the University of Windsor from which he graduated. Key roles on the college stage, in local repertory productions, and the Windsor Light Opera Company followed, and Bondy eventually relocated to Toronto in 1997 to pursue a professional career. Henry Arcado Biasatti (January 14, 1922 – April 20, 1996) was an Italian-Canadian National Basketball Association player and a Major League Baseball first baseman. He is the only Canadian to play at the top professional level in both sports. Early career Born in Beano, Italy, Biasatti grew up in Windsor, Ontario, where he was a star basketball player at Gordon McGregor Continuation School and Assumption College High School and played baseball for the East Windsor Cubs. He then played basketball at Windsor's Assumption College and served in the Canadian Army in World War II. Biasatti was a farmhand of the Toronto Maple Leafs baseball team, playing for the 1943 London Army Team and the 1944 and 1945 London Majors during the war.
