Gandhism
Gandhism is a body of ideas that describes the inspiration, vision, and the life work of M.K. Gandhi. It is particularly associated with his contributions to the idea of nonviolent resistance, sometimes also called civil resistance. The term "Gandhism" also encompasses what Gandhi's ideas, words, and actions mean to people around the world and how they used them for guidance in building their own future. Gandhism also permeates into the realm of the individual human being, non-political and non-social. Ram Ganesh Gadkari
Ram Ganesh Gadkari (26 May 1885 – 23 January 1919) was a Marathi people, Marathi poet, playwright, and humorist from Bombay Presidency, India. Ram Ganesh Gadkari was one of the writers the in new age transformation in Marathi literature. He wrote poetry under the pen name ''Govindagraj'' and humorous articles under the pen name ''Balakram''. He wrote plays under his legal name. Early life Gadkari was born on 26 May 1885 in a Marathi Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu family in the town of ''Navsari'' of Gujarat. He died at Saoner near Nagpur on 23 January 1919. Abstract art uses visual language of shape, form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Mahesh Elkunchwar
Mahesh Elkunchwar (born 9 October 1939) is an Indian playwright and screenplay writer in Marathi language with more than 20 plays to his name, in addition to his theoretical writings, critical works, and his active work in India's ''Parallel Cinema'' as actor and screenwriter. Today along with Vijay Tendulkar, he is credited as one of the most influential and progressive playwrights not just in Marathi theatre, but also in Indian theatre. In 2014, he was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship, the highest honour in performing arts in India. Eknath Easwaran
Eknath Easwaran (December 17, 1910 October 26, 1999) was an Indian-born spiritual teacher, author and translator and interpreter of Indian religious texts such as the ''Bhagavad Gita'' and the Upanishads. Easwaran was a professor of English literature at the University of Nagpur in India, and in 1959 he came to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley where he taught courses on meditation. In 1961, Easwaran founded the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation and Nilgiri Press, based in northern California. Nilgiri Press has published over thirty books that he authored. Easwaran was influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, whom he met when he was a young man. Easwaran developed a method of meditation silent repetition in the mind of memorized inspirational passages from the world's major religious and spiritual traditions which later came to be known as Passage Meditation. Purushottam Bhaskar Bhave (Devanagari: पुरुषोत्तम भास्कर भावे) (12 April 1910 – 13 August 1980) was a Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India. Bhave lost his mother when he was just nine years old. His father Bhaskar Haree Bhave was a military doctor. Bhave and his brother were taken by his maternal grandparents to Malakapur, where they grew up. Bhave was never on good terms with his father, a strict disciplinarian who threw him out of home at least twice. He received his college education at Hislop College and Law College in Nagpur. Bhave was a fiery political activist of the right-wing, ''Hindu'' (हिंदुत्ववादी) persuasion. Suresh Bhat
Suresh Bhat ( mr, सुरेश भट; 15 April 1932 – 14 March 2003) was a Marathi poet from the state of Maharashtra, India. Life Suresh Bhat converted to Buddhism with the help of Bhante Surai Sasai. Because of Buddhism was the religion of Babasaheb Ambedkar, who was an ideal to him. Suresh Bhat died of cardiac arrest on 14 March 2003. He was 70. Works Bhat published his first collection of poems, ''Roopgandha'' in 1961. In 1974, he published his second collection, ''Ranga maazhaa wegalaa'' and in 1983 he self-published a collection named ''Elgaar''. Raja Badhe
Raja Badhe (1912–1977) was a Marathi poet from Maharashtra, India. He first made his name in Nagpur as a poet. Later he moved to Mumbai. He worked for All India Radio for some time. Badhe produced a film on Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Many of Badhe's songs were recorded. When "Prakash Pictures" approached V. D. Savarkar to write songs for their film "Ram-Rajya", he advised them to get them written by Badhe. He died suddenly in Delhi. He had never married. A prominent traffic intersection in Mumbai, "Raja Badhe Chowk", is named after him.
