Amine Ibn El Boushaki
Amine Iben El Boushaki ( ar, أمين ابن البوسحاقي; born 4 December 1982) is an Algerian judoka. Early life Boushaki was born in 1982 in the town of Thénia within the Col des Beni Aïcha region, in the east of the Khachna Massif and in the south-east of the town of Boumerdès. Training Amine Boushaki started his sports career in 1988 at the age of 6. His initial training in judo took place in the Saïd Bahria indoor training hall located in the center of Thénia. Teams Boushaki started his judo training in a continuous manner within the CMB Thénia (CMBT) in 1988, which was the primary school in which he enrolled in his early childhood. He moved gradually in the sporting classes in the CMBT, starting from the Under-18 athletics, then Under-20 athletics to join Under-23 athletics of judo. Hocine Soltani
Hocine Soltani (December 1972 – March 2002) was an Algerian boxer, who won two Olympic medals. In 1992, the southpaw placed third in the featherweight division (54–57 kg), and at the 1996 Summer Olympics he won the gold medal in the lightweight division. Early life Hocine Soltani was born in the Algerian town of Thénia on 27 December 1972. He was introduced to boxing by his older brother Omar, who had already trained several other fighters. Omar later explained, "It is a school of life and discipline that allowed him not to drag, he quickly proved diligent and determined." Hocine Mezali ( ar, حسين مزالي) (born in Bordj Menaïel on 5 March 1938) is an Algerian journalist and writer. He had been the head of intelligence during the Battle of Algiers (1956–1957). Early life Mezali was born in 1938 in the town of Bordj Menaïel in the lower Kabylia region of Algeria, east of the Khachna Massif and south-east of the town of Boumerdès. In his youth, his secondary studies were interrupted by the student strike of 19 May 1956, during the Algerian revolution. Mezali then joined the National Liberation Front (FLN) and National Liberation Army (ALN). Gildo (died 398) was a Roman Berber general in the province of Mauretania Caesariensis. He revolted against Honorius and the Western Roman Empire (Gildonic war), but was defeated and possibly committed suicide or was assassinated. Fodil Mezali ( ar, فضيل مزالي) (born in Thénia on 23 April 1959) is an Algerian journalist, editor-in-chief and managing editor. Firmus (4th-century Usurper)
Firmus (died 375) was a Berber Numidian prince and Roman usurper under Valentinian I. Firmus was the son of the Berber Jubaleni prince Nubel, a powerful Roman military officer, as well as a wealthy Christian. When Nubel died, Firmus killed his half-brother Zammac, who had illegitimately appropriated Nubel's wealth, and became successor to his father. Between 372 and 375, Firmus revolted against the ''comes Africae'' Romanus, who was a supporter of Zammac. The misbehaviour of Romanus, who had neglected protection from African tribes to Roman cities that had refused the payment of bribes, had worsened the situation in Africa Province in the 360s. Fatma Zohra Zamoum (born 19 January 1967) is a Franco-Algerian writer, filmmaker and educator. Biography Zamoun was born in Bordj Menaïel in the north of Algeria, within a well-known family whose ancestors are Omar ben Zamoum and Mohamed ben Zamoum. Cheikh Mohamed El-Boumerdassi ( ar, الشيخ محمد البومرداسي) was one of the principal leaders of the popular Mokrani Revolt uprising of 1871 against the French occupation of Algeria.
