Brownstone Lane Murders
The Brownstone Lane murders were the mass murders of four people at a residence on Brownstone Lane in Houston, Texas. On June 20, 1992, three men tied up six people and shot all of them in the head execution-style. Four of the six victims died. The perpetrators: Marion Butler Dudley (May 13, 1972 – January 25, 2006), Arthur "Squirt" Brown Jr. (August 14, 1970 – March 9, 2023), and Antonio "Tony" Lamone Dunson (born November 7, 1972) were convicted of capital murder. Dudley and Brown were sentenced to death, while Dunson was sentenced to life in prison. Dudley and Brown were executed by lethal injection at the Huntsville Unit in Huntsville, Texas. Carl Wayne Buntion (March 30, 1944 – April 21, 2022) was an American man convicted of capital murder in Texas and sentenced to death. On April 21, 2022, at the age of 78, he became the oldest inmate to be executed in Texas and the state's first execution of 2022. Early life Buntion was born on March 30, 1944. When he was a child, his father murdered a man in front of one of his sons and was violent towards his whole family. In one incident, he smashed his wife's teeth. Buntion sustained broken bones from the abuse, and he said he had post-traumatic stress disorder because of it. One of his brothers served a twenty-year sentence for an unrelated crime. Quintin Phillippe Jones (July 15, 1979 – May 19, 2021) was an American man from Livingston, Texas, who was executed for the 1999 killing of his great aunt, Berthena Bryant. Bryant's family and 183,344 other people petitioned Texas Governor Greg Abbott for clemency to commute his death sentence to a life sentence. He was executed on May 19, 2021, the first execution by the state of Texas in 10 months and only the second since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
