A patent is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the legal right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention for a limited period of time in exchange for publishing an enabling disclosure of the invention."A patent is not the grant of a right to make or use or sell. Árpád Bogsch
Árpád Bogsch (February 24, 1919 – September 19, 2004) was a Hungarian-American international civil servant. He was born in Budapest, Hungary, and became an American citizen in 1959. From 1973 to 1997, he was Director General of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). He was also Secretary General of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV). He died in Geneva, Switzerland. Bogsch was featured in the 1988 Swiss documentary film ''A Szellem Tulajdona'' (''Property of the Intellect''), directed by Zoltán Bonta. There have been a number of tributes made in Bogsch's memory. The main building at WIPO headquarters in Geneva is named the "Árpád Bogsch building" in his honor. George Washington
George Washington (February 22, 1732, 1799) was an American military officer, statesman, and Founding Father who served as the first president of the United States from 1789 to 1797. Appointed by the Continental Congress as commander of the Continental Army, Washington led the Patriot forces to victory in the American Revolutionary War and served as the president of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, which created the Constitution of the United States and the American federal government. Washington has been called the " Father of his Country" for his manifold leadership in the formative days of the country. The Intellectual Property Office of the United Kingdom (often referred to as the UK IPO) is, since 2 April 2007, the operating name of The Patent Office.
