Invicta (motto)
''Invicta'' is a Latin word meaning undefeated or unconquered. It has been used in mottoes like ''Roma invicta'' (Latin for "Unconquered Rome"), and it is the motto of the county of Kent, England. Theories of origin "''Invicta''" has been a motto for centuries. ''Roma invicta'' is a Latin phrase, meaning "Unconquered Rome", inscribed on a statue in Rome. It was an inspirational motto used until the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 AD. This symbolic statement was later printed onto gold coins, to help boost the morale of the failing Empire. For Kent, it dates back to the invasion of England by William the Conqueror. As the official motto, it appears on the coat of arms of Kent County Council. Legend has it that, while marching from the 1066 battle site at Hastings, William marched on to London on his way to the (then) capital Winchester. While passing through Kent, the local people picked up branches and marched at William's men. Scared, William and his army took flight a ...

Coach Transport In The United Kingdom
The United Kingdom has a number of intercity coach services. Comparison with other travel modes Coach services generally travel further than, and do not stop as frequently as, and cost more than, bus services. It is common, but not universal, for coach travel to require advance purchase of tickets, whereas on buses tickets are mostly bought (or, increasingly, electronic payment is made) on board. The distinction is not absolute, and some coach services, especially in Scotland, operate as local bus services over sections of route where there is no other bus service. Coach usage in the United Kingdom is a small fraction of that of rail, which has increased since privatisation in the mid-1990s. History Origins Long-distance horse-drawn stagecoach services were effectively replaced by the arrival of the railways in the 1830s and 1840s, but stagecoaches and charabancs were still used for short journeys and excursions until the early years of the 20th century. The first motor ...

Kent Invicta Football League
The Kent Invicta Football League was a football league in England, formed in 2011 to commence operations for the 2011–12 season. It covered the traditional English county of Kent, some of which is now in Greater London. It merged with the Southern Counties East League in 2016, forming its lower division. Formation Negotiations to form a new Step 6 (level 10 in the overall English football league system) division began in 2009 to make promotion and relegation between the Kent League (Step 5, now Southern Counties East Football League) and Kent County League (Step 7) easier, as there had not been a relegation to the Kent County League for a number of seasons and promotions had been infrequent. At the end of the 2015–16 season, the league merged with the Southern Counties East League and became the lower division of the merged league. Challenge Trophy The league also organised a knockout competition, the Challenge Trophy. Final clubs * AC London * APM Contrast *Bearsted *Br ...

Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. Teamwork, tactical thinking and awareness are also highly important aspects. Water polo is a highly physical and demanding sport and has frequently been cited as one of the most difficult to play. Folkestone Invicta F
Folkestone ( ) is a port town on the English Channel, in Kent, south-east England. The town lies on the southern edge of the North Downs at a valley between two cliffs. It was an important harbour and shipping port for most of the 19th and 20th centuries. There has been a settlement in this location since the Mesolithic era. A nunnery was founded by Eanswith, granddaughter of Æthelberht of Kent in the 7th century, who is still commemorated as part of the town's culture. During the 13th century it subsequently developed into a seaport and the harbour developed during the early 19th century to provide defence against a French invasion. Folkestone expanded further west after the arrival of the railway in 1843 as an elegant coastal resort, thanks to the investment of the Earl of Radnor under the urban plan of Decimus Burton. In its heyday - during the Edwardian era - Folkestone was considered the most fashionable resort of the time, visited by royalties - amongst them Queen Victo ...
