This is a list of the German ''Media Control'' Top100 Singles Chart number-ones of 2014. The Media Control Charts are record charts compiled by Media Control on behalf of the German record industry. They include the "Single Top 100" and the "Album Top 100" chart. The chart week runs from Friday to Thursday, and the chart compilations are published on Tuesday for the record industry. The entire top 100 singles and top 100 albums are officially released the following Friday by Media Control. The charts are based on sales of physical singles and albums from retail outlets as well as permanent music downloads. "Waves" is a song by Dutch singer and rapper Mr. Probz. The song became an international hit upon being remixed in a more up-tempo fashion by German DJ and record producer Robin Schulz, with Schulz's remix topping the charts in multiple countries, including Austria, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Marius Müller-Westernhagen (born 6 December 1948) is a German musician and actor. He has been a feature in German rock music since the mid-1970s. Müller-Westernhagen is known for his energetic public concerts, and his fans know his anthem-like songs by heart. Though written a few years earlier, his song "Freiheit" ("Freedom") is widely considered as an anthem of the German Reunification. While keeping away from the merely fashionable, Müller-Westernhagen has nevertheless managed to reinvent himself every few years, and is popular with multiple generations of Germans. Andreas Bourani (formerly Stiegelmair; 2 November 1983) is a German singer-songwriter. Career Bourani was born to Egyptians, Egyptian parents and adopted as an infant by a German family in Augsburg, in the southwest of Bavaria. As a youth, he attended high school at St. Stephan and studied at the private music school Downtown Music Institute. In 2008, he moved from Munich to Berlin. In 2010, he received a recording contract with Universal Music and performed as an opening act for Philipp Poisel and Culcha Candela on their 2010 arena tours. Jan Phillip Eißfeldt (born 25 August 1976), known professionally as Jan Delay, is a German rapper and singer whose stylistic range includes mainly hip hop, reggae, dub and funk. An accomplished solo artist, he became known to the public as a member of the German bands Absolute Beginner and La Boom. History The current members of Die Toten Hosen are Campino (Andreas Frege), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Vom (Stephen Ritchie), Andi (Andreas Meurer) and Breiti (Michael Breitkopf). All members except one are German, though Campino's mother, Jenny, was English. The drummer Vom comes from England. He joined in 1999, after previous drummer Wölli sustained injuries in a car crash.
