The Fugees
''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things already mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with pronouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of pronoun '' thee'') when followed by a ...

Die Toten Hosen
Die Toten Hosen (literally "The Dead Trousers", figuratively "The Deadbeats") is a German punk rock band from Düsseldorf. History The current members of Die Toten Hosen are Campino (Andreas Frege), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Vom (Stephen Ritchie), Andi (Andreas Meurer) and Breiti (Michael Breitkopf). All members except one are German, though Campino's mother, Jenny, was English. The drummer Vom comes from England. He joined in 1999, after previous drummer Wölli sustained injuries in a car crash. Wölli had played from 1985 to 1999 and was an honorary member of the band until his death in 2016. The drummer until 1985 was Trini Trimpop, who became the band's manager when Wölli joined. The band is reputed to have played for free at private birthday parties or similar events in their early years, so long as the host provided them with unlimited beer and covered all damage caused by the band. 1982–1987 Die Toten Hosen formed in 1982 at the Ratinger Hof, a Düsseldorf b ...

Zehn Kleine Jägermeister
"Zehn kleine Jägermeister" (German: ''Ten Little Huntsmen/Jägermeisters'') is a song by German punk rock group Die Toten Hosen. It was released in June 1996 as the fourth single from the album '' Opium fürs Volk''. It is the band's biggest hit, reaching number one on German, Austrian and Swiss charts. Content It's a drinking song, and the fact that drinking songs are a tradition for Die Toten Hosen is ironized on the album version as an interview in the beginning and end of the song. The song's title and theme are a parody of " Zehn kleine Negerlein" (''Ten little negroes''), which is a song about how out of ten characters only one was left in the end; the parody lies in the improbable manner of their removals: killed by smoking cannabis, died for an inheritance, killed in a road accident, killed by the husband of a date, imprisoned for avoiding taxes, killed by a policeman, killed in a military drinking game, killed by mad cow disease, and finally rejected for asylum. The ch ...

OMC (band)
OMC, or Otara Millionaires Club, were a New Zealand music group, then duo, with vocalist Pauly Fuemana later becoming the sole member. OMC was best known for the 1995 hit " How Bizarre", named one of the greatest New Zealand songs of all time by the Australasian Performing Right Association. The full name of the band is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Otara's status as one of the poorest suburbs of Auckland. Career Origin (1992–1995) The Otara Millionaires Club was formed in 1992 by Phil Fuemana, who had played in the bands Houseparty and Fuemana. Fuemana and his younger brother Pauly Fuemana recorded two tracks as the new band for producer Alan Jansson's Urban Pacifica collection ''Proud''. Jansson had achieved cult status as composer/producer for the synthpop group Body Electric during the early 1980s. In 1994, after the split of the Otara Millionaires Club, Pauly approached Jansson and the two formed a musical partnership, with Fuemana the public face and Jansson as produce ...

"Break My Stride" is a song performed by American recording artist Matthew Wilder. It was released in October 1983 as the lead single from his debut album, '' I Don't Speak the Language'', and became a major worldwide hit single for him in late 1983 and spring 1984, reaching number five on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number two on the ''Cash Box'' Top 100. The song has been covered by many artists throughout the years, including Unique II in 1996 and Blue Lagoon in 2004 (whose versions both charted highly in various places) and, in interpolations, Puff Daddy with his 1997 hit "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" and Aaron Carter on the song "Stride (Jump on the Fizzy)" from his 2001 album '' Oh Aaron''. In 2009 it was interpolated by Matisyahu in the song "Jerusalem". Composition Industry executive Clive Davis signed Wilder to Arista Records in 1981 or 1982, but Wilder was not getting the results he or the producers wanted with finding the style of music that worked for him.
